Not Engaged Yet

Hey Everyone!

I wanted to pop in, say hi, and introduce myself since I am new.  :)  BF (which also stands for best friend in my case) has bought my e-ring but no concrete plans have been made and there has been no proposal so I am not yet engaged.  I can't wait for it to happen but for now am content to live happily as his GF.
And I know most of us have furbabies. I have three and am happy for any chance I get to talk about them. So if you want to know, I will be happy to oblige but I warn you, I talk a lot. :P
I like to hear about other furbabies too so in the interest of getting to know regs, let us know about the animals in your life! :)

    Thanks!

My dogs are Zeus, a 4yo chocolate lab mix rescue, and Koga, a 6 month old blue heeler mix. Zeus's favorite activity is sleeping. He is very laid back and doesn't do much else, so he is my big cuddle bear. Koga is very hyper since he is still a puppy and loves loves LOVES fetch and really annoying squeaky toys.

    This is Zeus.

    And Koga

My cat is Pandora, a 2yo tabby rescue. She basically loves everything except Koga and being picked up. She's crazy smart and fetches, which is pretty cool for a cat.

As for potatos, cheese, and Harry Potter, I love all three! Lol

Haha! What a coincidence. Pandora LOVES water bottle caps but she'll fetch twist ties too. I worried she'd swallow them at first but that has never been a problem. She'll faithfully bring it back for at least an hour. The worst though is when she's in the mood to fetch and I'm in the mood to sleep. Then we have problems.

    Welcome! Super cute furbabies.

    I have several furbabies myself.

    Here's mischief:

Don't let his smirk scare you.  He's a super sweet heart.

    Here's Trouble:

(He's supervising some construction work my boyfriend and I did).

    And here's my furball Lorrie:

Oh, and here's what's left of Lorrie after I brush her:

Hi and welcome, new kid! Cute doggies and cat. Mine plays fetch, too! His name is Marlon and he is crazy but very affectionate.

We will also need to know how you like your potatoes, preferred cheeses, yea or nay on mac and cheese, and your views on Harry Potter.

    Squee! CUTE furbaby pictures!!!
Most of you have already seen the picture of Eshezo holding Rose on our trip- but here is Rose holding Eshezo-

Rose has been spending a lot of time- well- all her time under the bed during the day. However- she's been exploring lots at night! I hope we'll be seeing more of her during the day soon.

So- ACD- How do you feel about asaparagus and Twilight?

    Why hello!

This is Sonic, AKA The Brat. I've spoiled him so much and you can tell within moments of meeting him Embarassed

Screech, AKA: The D*ck. I love him but seriously. He's a d*ck! (apparently TK doesn't like the lesser D-word).

    Milo, my fluffy man-slut.

    Oliver, Milo's brother and pro-headdesker.

    Jacobo, the Ball Python.

    Leucis, the leucistic betta.

And last but not least, Libby the puggle (3/4 pug, 1/4 beagle), and Ubee the German shepherd/border collie.

All your furbabies are absolutely adorable! And I am with Liv, how did you catch Mischeif making that face on camera. I can never catch mine doing anything cute, mainly because once the camera comes out they are WAYYY to interested in it than anything else. And the hedgehog is freakin awesome, as is the ball python. :) BF has two bearded dragons, Sammie and Lilith but they get upset if I try to take their picture with the flash. Lol.
As for the questions, there are so many!
I LOVE Harry Potter and am in fact hosting a Harry Potter party the night before the new movie. We are borrowing a friend's huge tv and watching our HP blu-rays (all of them) while eating Harry Potter themed food.
My favorite drink, hands down, is diet coke. It's like crack.
BF and I have only been together for just over a year. My best friend set us up on a blind date and it was pretty much love at first meeting. :)  I am 21 and a pre-med student who also works at Chili's (hopefully changing that one soon)  BF is 22 and a title abstractor for a law firm. He's also a student majoring in software engineering at the same school. (Funny side note: when we met, we actually realized that we had lived down the hall from each other in the dorms a few years earlier and had just never met.)
Yes, I watch TV and my favorite shows are Bones and Gilmore Girls.
I will eat pretty much any potato, but my favorite is baked with shredded cheese, butter and bacon bits. :)  And my favorite cheese is mozzerella, but only the fresh kind.
Nay on mac and cheese (unless its from a kraft box) and no to asparagus.
As for Twilight, I loved the books (I read the first one when it first came out when I was 15) but I absolutely hated the movies, mainly because I thought the casting (except for Alice, Rosalie, Jasper, Carlisle, and Jake) was pretty awful.

Lunar - have you tried grilled asparagus on the BBQ? I put the asparagus in a zip loc bag with olive oil, salt and pepper. Shake 'em up, then put the asparagus directly on the barbeque. It is delicious!

Stliiiiiightly off topic but..... Does anyone else get asparagus pee stench???

I got this from the Chit Chat FAQ thread:

"Upload a photo to photobucket.com or tinypic.com.  You do not need to create an account to use tinypic.com.  Copy the url for “Direct Link” (it should end in .jpg or .png).  Paste it between the quotation marks in the following and delete the space:  <img src="pictureurl.jpg" mce_src="pictureurl.jpg" width="200px" />

Copy and paste that formula into the signature box.  You can adjust the size of your sig by changing the number, but 200 is generally a good size."

    Yay! Your siggy works.

    That BBQ asparagus looks AWESOME.

and about the smell....I think everyone gets that.

"This was first investigated in 1891 by Marceli Nencki, who attributed the smell to methanethiol. These compounds originate in the asparagus as asparagusic acid and its derivatives, as these are the only sulfur-containing compounds unique to asparagus. As these are more present in young asparagus, this accords with the observation that the smell is more pronounced after eating young asparagus. The biological mechanism for the production of these compounds is less clear.

The onset of the asparagus urine smell is remarkably rapid. It has been estimated to start 15 to 30 minutes after ingestion."

    @Liv and acd:

I cannot claim to have gotten my cat making his hilarious face.  My roommate had gotten a new camera and was going to town taking a gazillion photos of my pets. It was sheer happenstance and luck that he took this AWESOME photo of my cat.  It's my favorite. :)

    Love everyone's fur babies!

My fur baby is the siamese. Her name is Luna, a.k.a Tuna Bird. The other two are the roommate's cats Toby the tabby and Nabiki (pronounced nuh-bee-kee) a.k.a Bitty.

Interesting tidbit about asparagus pee... there are two genes involved there. You may or may not possess the gene to make your urine smell, and even if it does smell, you may or may not possess the gene to be able to detect it. This is what I'm told anyway, and I'm sure my SO would tear my explanation apart (he's a biochem major).

I did not know that! I am a biochem major too but probably not as far along since I changed my major halfway through college. I'm definitely going to ask my profs about this one just to see how many weird looks I get. :P

Welcome! Everyone is posting furbabies so I thought I'd join in. SO has 2 dogs, one whose name is Zeus! Just like yours. We're not sure what he is, though. I do love labs and have always wanted one:)

The other dog is Rusty. They are about the same color, but not the same breed. Though we have no idea what rusty is either. I don't have any cute pics of him. He's old and adorable!
