Not Engaged Yet

It's like we got a whole new apartment for Christmas!

We really did. Towels, bedding, a real coffee maker, knives, picture frames (as if we needed more of those - BF's a photographer, I'm a painter, we have zero wall space left to hang stuff but we'll keep finding small gaps and filling them anyway)...

We didn't have much before, but we were surviving OK. Some of it was a total surprise, and some of it we knew about in advance. Either way, it's nice to have nice things (you know, knives that didn't come from the Dollarama). We also got a photoshoot from BF's Mom's BF. Now we really have no reason to get married anytime in the next few years. I mean, really, why get married when you don't need the presents or the pictures? (I'm totally kidding, BTW.)

And the icing on the new-stuff for the apartment cake is...the leather couch, which is only a couple years old, we're getting off someone BF's Mom knows for $350 because she's moving to NY. Our old couch is on its way to the dump as I type. There were physical holes in the cushions where you could pull stuffing out if you wanted to. Not a pretty sight, but we were going to wait until the fall when we were both back to full-time work to replace it until this deal came up.

I'm just so excited! I feel like our apartment just got all grown up haha, Next improvement: A shower head that actually sprays water, doesn't just kind of dribble it out. Any recommendations for that or for where I might find nice but cheap curtains to match our new duvet cover in Canada?

Also, tell me anything else. What's new? What's exciting? How have your holidays been so far? When do you have to go back to reality?

Reality will hit me when the traffic comes back due to everyone coming back from holiday vacations.  The drives are so nice right now.  Hate it!  Otherwise the holidays are going so well.  Must be exciting to have a fully stocked apt.  Love brown leather couches, especially if the leather has been broken in and its nice and soft.  Only problem in the summer I stick to them like crazy, damn hot weather.  Enjoy the goodies!

Might I suggest that you get a rain style showerhead. I love those ones where the water falls down directly over my head like a rain storm.

You should post some pictures of the new and improved apartment. At least those pictures don't need space on your walls.

<div>We were talking about the future stickiness of the couch already. And how cold they can get in the winter, however, it looks pretty and is nice and comfy. </div><div>
</div><div>Can you put a rain style showerhead on where a regular one used to be? I always thought you had to have the plumbing done specially for those, but I don't know much about these things.</div><div>

<div>Ha, isn't that the truth. When BF arrived with the couch I said that we needed to re-organize our walls. Now that the Christmas tree is down, the cluster-fvckedness of our wall decor is far more obvious. I'll work on getting pics, but not yet. Things are still kind of messy. </div></div></div></div>

Yes rain style shower head can be installed anywhere there is a regular one, just have to get a neck that will extend the shower head higher up.
