Hives / Easter Candy :)

BF gave me his sickness last week and I've been feeling super cruddy, but wasn't planning on going to the doctor.  That is until my arms broke out in hives (which I thought were mosquito bites) and have been itching like crazy.  I went to the doctor today and he gave me a cortisone shot for an allergic reaction (to what, I'm not sure) and a Z-Pack for an upper respiratory infection.  Boo. Frown

The upside is that when I went to CVS to get my prescription filled, I saw that they have Easter candy out!  My favorite candy of all time is Cadbury Mini Eggs.  They're these little milk chocolate eggs covered in a hard candy shell.  Do you know them?  They are great, but you can only find them around Easter.

Tell me what your favorite candy is that is only available a certain time of year!

Love mini eggs. I got some very similar snowball ones for Christmas. A huuuge bag nom nom.

I used to love Cream Eggs, but one year we got a whole box at Costco.... never again.

I find I tend to get contact dermatitis (rashes from touching things that irritate my skin) when I'm sick, probably because my immune system is too busy fighting more important things to bother with the rash.  Maybe that's what's going on?

    Sorry you're sick!

I love those Cadbury mini eggs, too!  Not so much the bigger ones with cream in the middle, but those little ones are the perfect mix of crunch and creamy chocolate!

I'm also a big fan of candy canes.

I hope you feel better soon!

My favorite Easter candy is the kind that is made by Whoppers. I think they are called Robin's Eggs. I prefer them over the Cadbury mini eggs.

I get that from  time to time, instead of hives my body parts swell and get insanely red.  One year my arms looked like Italian sausages.  Positive note I like it when the shelves have peeps on them, I don't eat them but I like to look at them and pinch them.  Hahaha....

Thanks for the feel better messages, ladies!

I'm not a fan of the cream filled Cadbury eggs, either.  BF loves them.  I think they're way too sweet.

MotoLyn - that is hilarious that you pinch the Peeps.  I'm going to try that sometime.  BF put some in my Easter basket last year (even though I hate them) because he thought it would be fun to watch them grow in the microwave.

I used to love Cadbury, but I can't eat them anymore :(.  My favorite of all time though are the Sweetart Bunnies, Eggs and Chicks though.  They actual shaped hard candies.  They're awesome.  I went out looking for them and couldn't find them, called Mom all upset, and her answer was "Oh, I bought a few for you the other day..."  It was a good mom moment.

I had a friend who loved Peeps, but...she would only eat them stale.

I used to love the Cadbury Cream eggs too but then I started eating just dark chocolate (like 70%+ dark) and now I don't really like anything milk chocolate though, unless it's flavoured milk chocolate. I love those little sea shell chocolates that you can get at Christmas time with the soft centres!

I also have to agree, that it could be some sort of contact thing. I get the same way when I'm sick. I have allergies to a TON of things but most of them are really mild. When they all start to combine or if I'm already sick, that seems to be when I'll start getting hives and super runny nose and stuff.

OMG I was obsessed with those when BF was stationed in Germany.  Kinder has some really yummy chocolate.  Why are they banned in the US??  I saw some Kinder brand chocolate at an outlet mall last year, but they wanted like $5 for a chocolate bar, so I had to pass.

SO GOOD. The egg surprise ones are banned because the toys are a choking hazard for children apparently so there aren't any in the US. Sadness.

I was wondering the same exact thing! I discovered them in Germany, as well! BF's stepmom and stepbrother are from Canada so they occasionally bring us some back.

Now I need to go to the grocery store for Easter candy! I love Jelly Beans and my mom bought Easter M&M's last night. The pastel colored ones.

On the other hand, feel better!!! Allergy shots are not fun. =(

They had Christmas ones this year. Red, white and green. I don't remember what they called them, because they were not shaped like eggs. the. best. candy. ever.

I'm a total sucker for my favorite sweets in seasonal colors/shapes. After Easter we get a little break from those gimmicks, right?
