Sunday KUI/Who's Around?

Who is around tonight? I just got back from visiting BF so now I have to enter a bunch of data into an excel spreadsheet for a class project. It is not very fun :( but I had a pretty good weekend so it's ok!

BE WARNED THE FOLLOWING STORY HAS SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T READ ALL OF HG!
I finally got to see HG! I loved it. I teared up at the reaping, when Katniss said good-bye to people, and when Rue died. BF and I went to a BBQ with some friends afterward and I was talking about the movie with one girl who had seen it and read the books. I told her I thought the next one would be better because Finnick is my favorite character and SPOILER ALERT if you haven't read the book! -> and I totally cried when he died <- and she laughed at me like I was an insane person. Confession: It made me like her slightly less because I treat book characters as if they were real people and I don't think it makes me crazy lol. So that's my exciting weekend :)

So how was everyone's weekend?

I'm around, sort of.  I'm supposed to be cleaning the house because I have a friend (MoH) coming to visit, but I'm feeling lazy.

I loooove Finnick.  His death was the most depressing one in the whole series for me.  Even moreso than Prim's.

Also, I think FI and I picked a first dance song!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44tVAJVmQCM

Hi Beth! I am just about to do my homework for Excel too!
I totally cry over the death of characters too, I hate reading books where the main character dies.  So you are totally normal and i judge anyone who thinks people are weird if they do.
My weekend was alright. Nothing really exciting happened, I got some highlights in my hair for the first time ever.  And I sent out all my invitations and I am really excited about that :)
I Just finished being a huge nerd with FI and now I am doing homework.  Fi is being silly and just blew up a condom. He is trying to find out if he is allergic to latex.  It was huge when blown up! I had no idea condoms expanded so big!

    Did you find a job?

Ray - I haven't found a job yet but I applied for the T.A. position last week and I'm really hoping I get it. I won't know for awhile though. Until then I'm going to keep applying to part-time jobs in hopes that I do get the T.A. position and can do that and a part-time job.

Do you think people would be confused if I used these a placecards?  I am trying to do something with my book theme and this is what I cam up with.  It is suppose to look like a library card

Would you be confused?  I would print it out on pretty, old looking paper.

EDIT:  Nevermind, I see the image now.  Cute!  Print it on yellowish parchment?

Is there supposed to be a link in there?  I couldn't find one.  But I think library card placecards would be really cute.  I considered doing something similar for table numbers, but I decided to do something like this instead:

[QUOTE]Ray, I think that's a cute idea. Will peoples' names be prominent on them?<strong> I've never been to a wedding with place cards, so I don't think I'd know what to look for. </strong>We went to PF Chang's yesterday and I had lo mein with shrimp. It was amazing! And I haven't taken ibuprofen all day!

Actually, this is a better thing to talk about.  I'm really unsure of whether to do seating charts/placecards or not.  I've been to both types of weddings, and I feel like there are definite pros and cons to each.  Thoughts?

Well the SodaStream was a guilt present from my cousin who "couldn't make it".  I know she wouldn't have spent that much money if she had been able to come. ha.

    Other favorite gifts:

    Keurig
    Cash
    KITCHENAID ARTISAN STAND MIXER OMG!!
    10 piece nonstick Calphalon cookware
    and several others.

I need to replenish my wine supply so I can try out Beth's sweet gift.

I think seating charts are easier than placecards for guests to figure out where they are sitting. But that could just be me. So it probably just comes down to personal preference.

Elle- Have you made any soda with it??
Buggle-  Yes. I am thinking about switching the location of the name so it is second instead of first. I will bold it or play with the fonts to make it stand out.  I plan on having my brothers be there to direct people to the board or where I end up putting them so they will know and they can explain if necessary.  YAYA! I love PF changs and no drugs is good!!

Elle- for me I didn't want some people to feel left out because I have a lot of people who know a ton of people and then some people who know no one, I don't want them to feel like they aren't included so I am doing assigned tables.  Cons I could put people together who don't want to be together or want to sit with others but I feel like after dinner people can sit where ever they want.

Hey all. We spent the day at the Saugatuck Dunes. Our friends B&T came with us. They're awesome. B and I are so close that if/when BF and I get married, B is going to be my MOH.

BF lost his keys at the dunes and didn't notice until we were eating dinner. We went back and he found them. Crazy. I thought they were gone for good, but he had a pretty idea of where they fell out of his pocket, and it wasn't in a sandy area where they could get buried.

The sound/smell of Lake Michigan was so relaxing. I could have fallen asleep on the beach.

Oh ok. Well I have a really strong opinion on this: I hate open seating. Making a seating chart makes everything SO much easier for guests. You don't have to assign exact seats but at least assign everyone to a table.

I <em>have</em> made soda with it.  3 liters in as many days.  I don't use the full flavor packets, though, so it's not as bad for me as it would be.

Yeah, the bolded part is, I think, the main advantage to seating charts.  I've been to a couple weddings where I didn't know many people, and it felt so awkward just to be like "ummm, can I sit here?" at a random table.

    Steps:
    1. Open bottle.
    2. Pour yourself a giant glass in a plastic cup.
    3. Simmer chicken (if it's white) or beef tips (if it's red) with 1 cup.
    4. Add in your favorite pasta sauce, simmer another 30 minutes.
    5. Finish the bottle while your late night food cooks slowly.
    6. Smush into cooked rice.
    7. Put leftovers into separate containers for bomb a$$ lunches this week.
