Your turn...

I figured out that if gas hits $4 a gallon and FI drives at least 1000 miles per month (which is low for him), we would actually save $30+ a month by buying a Chevy Cruze.

I also learned that the sound of my office door unlocking for someone WILL NOT wake me up from my pre-work nap. I also learned that my boss is cool with my pre-work naps and actually thought it was funny.

FI figured out that gas is now over $5 a gallon here. He has a little fit everytime he passes a gas station and I think he silently curses living in Canada too.

I've heard them used interchangably here, at least in the North East United States.  But I've never seen it spelled with an E just pronounced with one.  Ex; n-query

Sparrow - They actually have different meanings inquiry is an investigation whereas enquiry is to ask questions. Apparently enquiry is used more for intellectual or scholarly work (adapted from wikipedia).

Haha which is why it can be disputed. It depends a lot on how you define the terms.

Yeah, I was really surprised when I realized how much the Queen can do!

I'd die, but I'm pretty sure $5/gallon isn't too far away for me. I haven't filled my truck up in months, I canntot justify putting $80 in my gas tank. $20 every day or so I'm ok with, lol.

I learned what the difference between i.e. and e.g. is!

i.e. means "that is [to say]", which specifies and explains.
E.g. means "for example", which indicates examples.

"I like citrus fruits, i.e. juicy, edible fruits with leathery aromatic rinds."
"I like citrus fruits, e.g. oranges and limes."

wow i just got a lot smarter by reading this thread.
i learned that there is a kind of depression (atypical) where you actually eat and sleep more than normal. this is different than major depressive disorder i.e. not being able to eat or sleep.
see what i did there? did i do it right or did i mess it up?

I also just learned that if the pipette looks funny, don't use it.  It will break off in the tubing, forcing you to spend 10 minutes trying to pry the broken stub out, before breaking again and requiring another 10 minutes of easing the shards out while slicing up your fingers.  UGH.

I learned that the first Holocaust survivor to be interviewed on film was the character of Marceline in Edgar Morin and Jean Rouch's 1960 cinema verite film "Chronicles of a Summer." The duo also coined the phrase cinema verite.

I learned about the Algerian Revolution. It's not really random, but considering all my classes were cancelled except for my History of the Islamic World class, it's pretty much the only thing I've learned today. And all the fun facts on this board of course!

I learned that the place I usually buy gas just went raised the price from $4.03 to $4.11... I'm so going to start buying my gas from Costco!

I also learned that taking a day off from work to rest and recover from my cold isn't going to cut it and I may have to spend another day at home to try and beat this!

I also learned quite a bit from reading this thread! Yay for learning new things!
