December b-day ladies

Cate, Dreamer, Bren, anyone else?  Any b-day plans?

I tried to schedule a party for Dec 4, as a friend who lives in SoCal might be up that weekend. Then it turns out my BFF has other plans (another friend's party out of town). I'd try for the next weekend, but FI and I have plans to go to Tahoe, and I've already requested the 10th off. My actual birthday is the 9th, so I thought it would be nice to have dinner with the family that night then go to Tahoe the next day.

Yes, I'm being stupid, but it does bum me out that it's so hard to get people together for my b-day. I'm still debating whether to try and get as many people as possible together on the 4th.

Debating whether or not to take the day off.  I technically have 2 more days off, but the office is closed from Christmas until New Years, and they're giving us 2 discretionary holidays on top of Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, which means we can either use 2 vacation days for the rest of the week, or take those two days unpaid.  Which means I can take my birthday off, but I have to take one of those other days unpaid.  I think I'm going to do it.

Other than that, no plans.  My birthday has become anticlimactic in recent years since I've stopped fighting finals and the holiday season.  Probably just drag BF to the beach for the day, as he'll finish finals two days before!

Happy Birthday ladies!  Leia, my brother shares the same bday as you.  I hope that you all have good ones, I understand how hard it is to plan a gathering when it gets so close to the holiday season.

Happy early birthday fellow December babies :) I agree with Cate - my birthday has become anti-climatic although last year was pretty freaking sweet. lol.

This time my birthday is on a Sunday and we won't be back from the Bahamas til Saturday. I'm thinking my vacation is really my birthday celebration with FI. I'd love to get everyone together for a party but honestly I have some really "flakey" friends.

I wanna go to Tahoe! Or the Beach! I hate living in Ohio lol

This post motivated me to just suck it up and apply for the day off.  I'm sure I won't regret it!

Maybe I'll have a happy hour the night before?  All of BF's classmates will be done with finals, and we're friends with several of them, and it's mid-week so most people won't have to compete with holiday parties that take up all the weekends.  And a nice casual happy hour is perfect for me.

That sounds like fun, Cate! You should do that.

I want to do bowling and karaoke. Which is totally stealing from what BFF did for her b-day last month.  =)

Last year we had a potluck at my house and played Rock Band. It was great.

I'm having a Christmas Party on the 18th. But I'm not going to organize a "birthday" party this year. It's way too much work to figure out everyone's schedules and plan things around people. So. Sick. Of. It.

Honestly, I wish someone would throw me a surprise party someday. /downside of a Christmas bday.

I can relate!  My birthday is the 20th.  I usually try to get some friends together to go out for dinner or something, but it's always hard being so close to the holidays.  Last year my (now) finace planned a party for me and we ended up having a blizzard so no one could come!  Oh well, I've gotten used to an anticlimatic birthday, just like all of you other December babies have.  :-)

FMIL and I's Bday is the same day Dec 10th and Fi's SIL Bday is the 8th so we are all going to dinner together...That is all, I stopped making a big deal after 21, I have worked on my Bday for the past 4 years.

    Happy Birthday to everyone :))

My birthday is the 31st, so, while everyone parties on my birthday it's nearly impossible to get them together... Unless BF has some other plans, I think we're getting together with another couple and going to dinner...

I'm not really looking forward to it because I'm turning 29 and I'm not happy about it  lol

My birthday is Jan 3.  3 years in a row I haven't gotten a party because A)people can't make it or B) we have a huge mother of a snowstorm.  Last year 5 friends braved the snow, with booze, and we partied until the snow stopped.  It was epic.

But usually Christmas(ish) birthdays are shiitay. This year I'm having an effin' party though.

    Happy early birthday, ladies;)
