Let me introduce myself!

Hey Ladies- I just got a quick lesson on how the boards work- and I realize you have to have a strong backbone and a strong sense of self to understand what is going on. I enjoy writing and reading everyones posts and I was hoping to continue. But I figured that I should introduce myself. 

I am currently living with my Bf- we bought a house last January and things are just great. I know that we are moving towards an engagement and a wedding but I am not trying to rush anything. Of course I think about colors and who I would want in my "party" but I can't wait to have the butterflies before I start getting too carried away. 

I am a high school history teacher and I love books and sappy movies. I love my dogs and my friends and there's nothing better than a snow day!

Yes, dog pictures STAT! FI and I can't have animals in our apartment, so I need to get my fix somewhere. (that sounded creepy). 

How long have you been teaching? I have a friend in her first year of teaching as a high school bio teacher - she's going crazy . . . but I hear it gets better after the first year. 

How long have you guys been together? How'd you meet (I love those stories)?

I was a substitute teacher for almost two years.  I did K-12, all grades at least once.  I subbed special ed, gym, home ec, everything.

That was not a job, it was hell with fluorescent lighting.  Teachers are my heroes.

I have been teaching for 4 years. I LOVE IT- and yes tell your friend that it does get easier. And tell her to keep every hand out she has ever used- those come in handy!!!!

My bf and I actually went to high school together- but we only "knew" of each other. We hung out in different groups. Our paths crossed once in a while because my best friend was dating his best friend- but we still never really had a conversation. Then two years ago my best friends Fiance called me and asked me if I wanted to go to our 5 year HS reunion with him- so we wouldnt have to pay for two cars to park in Boston. So he picked me up and he was with Chris- that night we all had a bit too much to drink and Chris ended up making sure I got home alright. After that he started contacting me for outings with our friends. And we have been dating since. I LOVE our story lol!!!

To be honest- I never got into Harry Potter. My bf is getting me caught up on the movies bc he wants to go to HArry Potter Land in Florida... So Im doing  my best- but I do LOVE the movies. I just wish I read the books when they first came out!

wrkn- I started as a substitute when I was finishing up college. It is the worst. But If you survived that- then you can survive anything!!!!

I'm from Minnesota and it is snowing a LOT. We don't get school or work or anything off for snow usually. This winter we got a foot and a half of snow at once and school and work weren't cancelled. We're pretty tough I guess. haha

Kentucky.  A little snow on the ground, flurries randomly, not much accumulation.  But after three days of weather like that, roads are a little icy, it would be nice if it warmed up enough to melt it.

I highly recommend the books. I read the British editions, which is fun. I'm not sure how different they are, really, because I've never done a side-by-side comparison. Harry Potter Land sounds like fun. Would go if I were ever in the area.

I'm in the one state with no snow.  If it snowed in Miami, I'd think the world was about to end.

Though it's chilly here, too!  By no means a tropical paradise today.  It might even go down to 20 degrees tonight!!!

We are a bunch of wimps here in Boston- we did get a ton of snow yesterday but they canceled school to two days.... Usually I WOULD LOVE paid days off- but my kids have midterms next week and they are not prepared yet.. BAD TIMING SNOW! lol

I am currently watching the movie "I hope they serve beer in hell" - based on a blog by a guy named Tucker Maxx. The book made me cringe at every turn of the page. Now the movie is making me question all men! haha

Dont let your guys see this movie or read the book- they may get horrible ideas!!!!

Yeah he is a Yorkie- His name is Tyson. ANd I have two more. Odin and Missy. They are the cutest! I love those dogs!

Tucker Max's website is hilarious, I laugh so hard at the story of the girl he has sex with while a friend was in the closet filming.  It is not for the faint of heart. 

I'm from Sunny Southern California, no snow here either and I'm currently rocking flip flops and capri pants with a short sleeve.
