My mother is not Momzilla,just BSC :S

I was at Fis house for a couple of days so I didnt really know what was going on at my house.I finally came home last night(in the dark) and didnt notice anything out of the ordinary,I woke up this morning and my mom leads me to the front of the house.
OMG! She planted orchids and flowers all over the front yard and she told me that the reason in because when picture day comes ( the morning of the wedding) she wants lots of flowers in the pictures.I told her most likely I would be getting ready in a Hotel and she said "NO! You are leaving ready from home like it is done in Puerto Rico"

I know where you are coming from.

My dad has always wanted either my sister or I to get married on their farm. My BF and I are pretty receptive to that idea.

What did they do this summer? Plant 200+ trees and expand the lawn (so, it can accomodate a tent). I know they are also doing it for erosion purposes, but they've had 30 years to do it and decided to do it this year.

My aunt wants us to get married in Brazil. My aunt refuses to leave Brazil. I would marry in Brazil just for my grandpa since he's not in shape to travel such long distance. Other than that, if he's no longer alive by then and I have the wedding here and my aunt is unwilling to come here for my wedding, too bad. No, I'm not praying that he passes away by then, I'd give anything to have him at my wedding.
My SO's aunts and cousins also keep asking us if we thought about marriage and we are honest and answer that not anytime soon. I bet that they'd rather have us get married here in US. So when it happens, that's gonna be interesting.

I am having a weird issue with Fis mom regarding family in Brasil.She has told me that not many people will come for the wedding which is really bugging mel considering they all have the means to pay for the trip and she also told me not to ask her how many people are coming till 4 months before the wedding, so there goes sending the STDs and knowing a number when we book the venue.....Esta Maluca!!

Your mom should be buddies with my FI's mom.  When we told her that we were getting engaged we were on vacation at the beach.  My FI and I went out afterwards to grab some food, and when we came back his mom was like, "Tomorrow we're going to take pictures of you guys!".  Ok, so no big deal.

The next day comes and his mom was like, "We're going to go down to the beach and take some pictures of you two for your wedding invitations!"  And I was like, "Um, I think we're getting ahead of ourselves here.  Plus, I don't want to pay for picture invitations.  They are usually more expensive."  And she was like, "Oh, well we still need to get you guys some of those traditional beach pictures!  Put on your white button down and some khakis."  And I was all, "Um, I don't own a white button down or khakis."  She could not believe it.  "Why don't you own a white button down?"  I told her, "I just don't.  I'd never wear it.  Besides, even if I DID own this stuff, why on earth would I have thought to bring it with me to the beach in October?"  And she just looked at me like why the hell wouldn't I?  And then she tried to let me let her put my hair in curlers for pictures that I had already said that we did not need to take.

I adore my FMIL, but she loves to jump the gun sometimes.  Haha!

I know!  And that is precisely why I wouldn't want those pictures!  Plus, I'm not a huge beach person in the first place, and if I was going to have pictures for the wedding invitations I'd want them to be more representative of me and FI as a couple.  That wouldn't represent us at all.  Maybe a picture where we're fighting over the XBOX controller would work, though!<div>
</div><div>I think I hurt my FMIL's feelings when I told her I didn't want to take those kinds of pictures and FI agreed he didn't want to either.  She's so traditional it hurts sometimes.</div>
