packing..help!

So I love making lists when I pack for vaca..and we leave in a week so I want to start getting stuff together now and figure out of I need to go shopping at all.

so besides the obvious things like clothes, shoes, bathing suits, towels, sunscreen, make-up, shower stuff..what else should i add to the list?

and how do you pack when you drive rather than fly?

eta: and i'm packing for bf too because he'll forget stuff like last year..even his swim shorts!

    I'm definitely an overpacker too, which makes me excited to be traveling by car cause i can :)

    And a book is a MUST HAVE! I'm addicted to my kindle so I'll bring that for unlimited books.

    BF wants to bring a mini cooler in the car for drinks haha. We are going to Myrtle Beach, SC. My parents have a condo there and we will be meeting them, and taking my sister and her friend. (which will be nice to have extra drivers!)

    Oooh, Myrtle Beach! I've never been there, but I do love relaxing with family with water nearby. Alas, not something I get a lot of in Arizona! I'm jealous!

    Layers!!!! I am always either burning up in a car or freezing, and I spill a lot! So layers are a must when traveling by car for changing and reaching optimal temperature. Also easy slip-on shoes, I like Toms, but flip flops are good too!
