i wouldn't worry my bf does the same thing. there's just two personality types the spenders and the savers, their can be hybrids but even they have their weaknesses. the best advice i've been given is just let him have a few things, within reason, without a fight. in his mind he is an adult male whom makes the money and he deserves to have what he wants. try to substitute guitars with something you splurge on weather it be clothes, shoes, hobbies or crafts, as long as it doesn't happen often don't worry. if it bothers you because you feel he spends his money illogically or too freely tell him it bothers you, perhaps that your worried what his spending habit will be if you ever get married.
