    ***Raises hand***

It's not Tucson, but I'm in Scottsdale :) We go to Tucson once every few months to see my BFs parents. Are you both from Tucson? My BF went to Rincon HS.

I grew up in Michigan and my parents lived in Minnesota for several years. I went to college in Indiana for a year and I have family there, and I've been to Chicago quite a few times and have friends there. So I tend to relate to people from all those areas. :)

My H has lived here since he was about 8, and I've been here for about 10 years. Tucson makes me happy. It's the size where you don't always run into people you know everywhere, but you find common acquaintances with random people all the time.

Are you girls originally from here or are you transplants like me?

I'm a transplant. I'm from Rochester, NY, went to college in SC, lived in VA and FL for 4 yrs each, then decided to come to grad school in AZ. I love it here as well, though with the cost of flights to get back to the east coast, it's definitely challenging to see my family. But my BF grew up in Tucson and has lived in Scottsdale most of his adult life so it looks like we'll be here for awhile.

Yeah...I'll take palms trees, sun,  and a couple months of 100+ degree weather over snow and cold ANY day! You don't have to shovel heat!

I may not live in Arizona, but I approve this statement.

I grew up in Phoenix, and then life tried to move me to Tucson both before and after college round #1. I refused. Then I spent some time in northern Cali in my first career. I moved back to AZ with the intention of staying in Phoenix.... try as I might... I ended up in Tucson regardless of my efforts for college round #2. For this reason, which I can get into in another post, I believe in fate.  I'm still here in Tucson, and loving it. Tucson has grown on me... I love that it's small, but not boring, and hot but not as hot as Phx. I love that it has charm, culture, mountains, and wineries nearby. BF grew up and still lives in Tucson, also regardless of his efforts to leave several times. We're in Tucson for the long haul because our families are scattered all over Tucson and Phx.

Yeah, we live up near Catalina State Park, and I love the mountains and that I can feel like we live somewhere quiet and peaceful and kind of on the outskirts, but everything I need is within a 10 minute drive, and in 30 minutes, I can be in the middle of town. I do wish we had a 101/202 type loop and things were better planned/nicer like they are in Phx, but the cleaner air and lower temps make up for that. I like both Phx and Tucson, and I also lived in Prescott for a while. That was a little too small, but it was nice to have some colder weather!
