Flower Girl Help??

I am having my ceremony on the lawn of our local courthouse and had previously planned for the wedding to be at night time and for a different venue. But plans have changed and I no longer feel it is a good idea for a toddler to walk down a concrete aisle with a glass lantern.

Does anyone have any ideas of something safe that I could substitute in place of the lantern that wouldn't be a hassle to clean up because the city is being very gracious to let us use the venue for free and I would hate to ruin it for some other bride by leaving a huge mess.

    Yep, flowers.
  • Use a lantern that you can put a battery operated votive candle in. You can find metal or plastic lanterns in outdoor decor areas.
  • You can make a ribbon wand for her.

  • I've seen Pinwheels used, they're super cute, and if you DIY them, you can make them into whatever your wedding colours are! I also agree with the plastic lanterns, if you need to, find some cheap paint to cover up whatever hideous summer colour the lantern is (unless you find a pretty one!). Good luck!!!
  • Pomander ball.  I made ours for our flower girls and they turned out nice (have pic in bio under flowers and diy).  I would also check craft stores for plastic lanterns?

  • What about one of those cute "Here Comes the Bride" signs?

We can't throw petals in my church so I'm either going to have my flower girl carry a flower pomander or a basket filled with flowers.
