Help me shop?

Okay ladies, I need a suit for an interview. Preferable from Macy's because I have tons in gift cards for there. Skirts are okay, but pants suits are better. Any help is appreciated. TIA

And go!

since you're short (right?) go with one or two button and NOT double breasted.  and preferrably something that shows your collarbone...  that can make a woman look thinner than she is.  :)  i'm looking around.

i've noticed a lot of women wearing these at my recent jobs (law firm and government project managers).  it's a suit but not too suit-y.  and the open jacket is flattering.

I like these girls, thanks! I have been told that for a job interview you should stick with blue or black and no pin-strips. Is this right?

So, It's not Macy's, but I just had to buy a new suit for my (10!) Med School Interviews and I shopped around like woah. I'm short too, so finding really good suits was extra difficult. The best I found was the classic black suit from Bannana Republic, if you sign up for their e-mail thing they always have sales (I got mine 25% off). Although I prefer pants I got the skirt version because I was informed it was really the only way to go for interviews.

It was a little more expensive than some others I looked at but since I didn't have to get it taylored that helped alot.

Moral of the (way too long) story: Don't get a cheap suit. There were other people at my interviews in cheaper suits and not only did it not look at professional, they were all wrinkly messes by the end of the day.

    Hope this helped.

I haven't personally heard that, but it could be true. I like the look of a pinstripe. I think as long as your suite isn't something over-the-top crazy (i.e. bright pink and lime spotted) you should be good. I don't see why grey wouldn't be an appropriate color option.

Invest in a good suit. You'll find times to wear it. And make sure it fits well! Definitely go in and have it tailored.

i'd go with a neutral suit and then a little bit more color in the underneath cami.  like maybe a charcoal or a dark brown with a deep eggplant or navy underneath.  you don't want to just fade into the wall.  you are a CONFIDENT WOMAN!  :)

Coming from a place where only sales people and interviewees (maybe) wear suits, I don't have a lot of experience. But I thought this one looked nice. Some of them are just too stuffy.

<div>I really like the first one - I think it's super cute. </div><div>
</div><div>I'd tend to lean toward one that has something somewhat unique about it, but nothing too off the wall. The skirt is what makes this one stand out to me. I also like the grey because it's not so stuffy looking. Black will ALWAYS be a safe bet though.</div>
