I had one for the first time last year and now I'm hooked. Someone else said that they order a half Shamrock, half chocolate shake and I think I may have to try this.

No. I'm not a fan of minty drinks, plus ever since McD's changed their minkshake recipe a few years ago I don't drink their shakes anymore. I probably wouldn't drink a shamrock shake even if their milkshake recipe was the same though.

I love anything minty+choclate.  So I have yet to try one cause I'm afraid I'll get hooked.  back in college I had a roomie that was of Irish decent and he would drag me out way late at night to go to McD's when the shamrock shake was advertised.  It was like crack for him.  I Mint n'Chip ice cream though.

ETA: That Roomie being Irish had nothing to really do with the story.  I just found it amusing that he bought into the whole Shamrock idea.

I've been dying to try one, but I'm like Liv. I looked up the nutrition info, saw close to 600 calories, and was able to put my curiosity at bay. For now, at least.

I've never had it, but I'm not a big mint fan. 

Speaking of shakes, on Valentines day when FI was feeling under the weather I went to UDF and ordered us low-fat shakes and they were out of low-fat icecream so I said oh fine give me full fat.  The lady was apologizing and said "Honey, I'm assuming one of these is for you...you certainly don't need low-fat anything."  It took a lot for me not to say, "Umm thanks biatch, but I'm afraid that if I had full fat shakes on the regular I'd look like you!"

I love mint and I love ice cream, but I wasn't fond of the shamrock shake. I guess it was too marshmallow-y to me. I dunno.
