I totally got let go yesterday *head desk*. I was terminated with a reason of "your services are no longer needed, we are changing around some positions and are getting rid of yours" kind of not the truth... I knew it was coming, there was an odd series of events that took place. They have been doing lay off's over the last couple months and are in the red with funds. They are in big trouble financially.
I left out the CFO's name and just wrote CFO for her name.
Last week the CFO called and said we had an issue that my boss was going on holidays and no one is there to cover certain things. I nicely said I got it covered all that stuff is what I do. she said I do not do them. *face palm* I told her firmly "No CFO this is my job, he does operations I do all the paper work and so forth, I have always done it, since I started" she said "since when did you do this?" this is when I learned that head office thinks I do nothing all day and has this thought I sit at my desk on facebook and don't answer my phone. hmmph
Then 3 days ago they let my receptionist go with out telling me or my boss (he is on holidays from march 30 until april 17th). The CFO came in and just did it. They asked me to cover reception with my job (im the office supervisor) and its been absolutely crazy...
So wednesday rolls around and this girl comes in and asks for the CFO and says she is there for training. Now CFO is not located with us, she is at another location about 15 mins away. So I tell this girl to have a seat while I locate and talk to CFO and find out if she is my new receptionist. While waiting for a call back me and the new girl started talking about her position she was taking over, her response was "an office manager position with reception and a lot of paper work, so I guess you will work for me" my coworker Becky was behind her mouthing "WTF?" I just said "oh interesting, I hope they are paying you more then 18/hr or your getting ripped off" I sent her up to CFO's office for training.
Thursday, I prepared for my exit, I shredded all my instruction manuals, I made them up for people to cover me when I was away on vacation, I changed all my passwords on the system and got rid of any documents that had passwords in it and then I cleaned out my system. I deleted all the master documents, I created in my off time to make my job easier.
CFO came in at 420 to talk to me. She told me they no longer need me and they were making some changes and getting rid of my job. I grinned and told her thanks for kicking me off this sinking ship before we all drown. She just looked down and I said "oh come on, your the CFO, If i see red flags everywhere you have to be seeing it on paper, you know the company is in huge trouble" she didn't respond and wouldn't even look at me. I then said "your replacement for me isn't going to last. You fuc*ed up, when you gave her our address, you shouldn't have never giving the address to her until I was gone, I had a good conversion with her, good luck with her, at $14 an hr she wont put up with all the bullshit, the owner screaming at people, the crude warehouse guys and what you expect her to do.... I wasn't being paid enough for it at $18 an hour. Good luck" she didn't look up from the floor once and mumble "well Your boss doesn't know I let you go, he fought for you stay for the last year. I hope you will fine and good luck finding a new job" and left. She didn't even wait for me to left she just took off.
I'm not upset, They have been in trouble since I started there 2 years ago, and I seen it coming, im shocked they are still open. I started looking for a job a few months ago and have been doing interviews on and off.
Oh and the best part! Its my bosses wedding tomorrow, The owners are going and I didn't RSVP online so they have NO idea I will be there, this shall be fun.
So I will be here more often.
