Not Engaged Yet

Living at home is going to be the death of me...

I hate being home (aka, in my hometown). All my friends are spread out all over the east coast now except for one. Who I was supposed to hang out with tonight (I haven't seen her in over a month) but just she cancelled. I'm just SOO sick of being by myself watching reruns on my computer.

BF is coming Friday or Saturday for my birthday, depending on if my car is ready.
Please GOD I hope my car is done tomorrow and we can pick it up and pack up my apartment on Friday. Then I can see BF for my birthday weekend and then get the heck out of here ASAP, start my move. Right now I feel like I'm just spinning my wheels, which I am.

What's everyone up to tonight? Am I justified in going to the store and buying a bag of Doritos as comfort food?
And if the stormy weather came...I'd just kiss you in the rain... Daisypath Anniversary tickers image

Re: Living at home is going to be the death of me...

  • I hate living in my hometown too. I've been here for about 3 weeks this time and I've been ready to leave since week one. I get so bored here especially when all my friends are off at school (they all start so early!)

  • It's also really frustrating because my mom is always on my case about "why aren't you hanging out with anyone??"

Well mom, if you wanna airlift my friends from Massachusetts or Virginia, be my guest! lol

  • My parents drive me up the wall when I visit. My mom and I don't have a very good relationship and it's always worse when I'm home.

I'm watching Toddlers and Tiaras. This show makes me sad. I think some of the girls really enjoy it but sometimes the things the parents say are just awful things to say about your own children!

    DO it!
Of course you may not want to listen to me, I tend to eat when I am upset, so there is that.

I have lived in a small town my whole life so I guess I am use to it. But it does suck when there is no one around!
EDIT: Oh and I am going to pre-marital counseling tonight. *nervous*

I feel like I should be used to living in a small town but I never am! lol.

OMG your wedding is so soon! Let us know how pre-martial counseling goes. BF and I have talked about doing it when we get engaged but I don't know if we actually will.

I know!!!! WHOOT! I am so excited! But stressed! I have so much left to do! And I can't find shoes... It is killing me. I will. I have heard it is a really good idea, and of course it is required by my church

[QUOTE]I think my hometown is so sweet and quaint but I could never, ever in a million years live there again. You have to drive 20 minutes just to get milk or gas or whatever from my parents' house. I am so spoiled now with everything within walking/short driving distance. Also I love my parents, but about a week with them and I'd probably jump off something tall.

[QUOTE]Liv- You city girl ;) Danser- Congrats! Beth- me too! I have funky feet so I have to go in store and try them on. :/ Oh pre martial went well. Not scary like I thought. *rolls eyes* I am such a baby. We talked a lot about what our faith believes about marriage which was kind of duh for us but it was good. Then he asked us some questions like do you want kids? Do you think marriage is a lifelong commitment? It was good.

hehehe. good typo. Like "My finance and I went to the mall the other day..." ;)

You'd be surprised how many people are talking about big life things for the first time in counseling like that. It's fantastic that it's sort of duh for you two. :) I'm very glad it went well.
  • Kelly I hope you got the doritos! Did you ever try dipping them in sour cream? Oh so good! Not so healthy, but heck its not all the time!

As for being at your parents again. I lived with mine all throughout college and was so glad to get out of there at the age of 23. My stepdad drove me nuts bc he is kind of a slob. Im a much cleaner person now living with FI then at my parents house (I alway just threw my clothes on the floor when they were dirty and didnt care, now it pisses me off when Dan does it).

Your almost there! Hang on a little longer!

  • Ok, prepare to either laugh at me, or feel really bad for me...I STILL live in my hometown. I'm almost 32 and other than for school in NW Jersey, I've never left. The DC Metro area can be like a black hole for most who were born/raised here. Now here's the super laugh at me part...we're living with my mom right now while we house hunt. 32 and living at home with SO, son, and Mom. Any second now I'm gonna start screaming for some meatloaf.

    LOVE that movie!

  • OMG I'm such a douche! Sorry for the P&R, the night just got shittier and shittier. I got in a fight with my mom then 2 mini fights with BF and got fried chicken instead of Doritos. Suuuuper fun.

The update, if anyone catches it, is that I'm getting my car and packing up my old apartment TOMORROW! Yayyy. I was living in Ithaca, NY (I feel ok saying that on the interwebzz now that I don't live there anymore). BF is coming to visit Saturday til Tueday and I'd like to get to Mass. by the end of the week, at least to bring some of my stuff up.

My town is boring but it's also that only one good friend actually lives here and I had no car for the past week and a half. I could have borrowed my mom's car but just seriously lacked motivation.
