PSA about Bath and Body Works Perfume

If you put on their perfume, do not put on sunscreen until you wash it off. Your skin will turn green (think fading bruise).

At least I assume it's the sunscreen, unless it's reacting with beach water or sweat or sunlight or something.

It won't come off! *scrubs*

This is what I get for deciding to do something girly for once.

Really? Good to know because I wear their perfume all the time, I don't recall if I've ever used sunscreen with it though.

Yep. I put it on on a whim and BF then wanted to go to the beach. A few hours later I was green!

    Did you try rubbing alcohol?

Was it a citrus scent?  I've heard citrus and sunscreen in the sun can turn green - my friend had a bad incident with limes she was spraying on her tacos leaving a splatter pattern on her skin one time.

This sounds really weird but if rubbing alcohol doesn't work, trying nail polish remover (and then take a shower after obvs.)  Nail polish remover takes off everything from permanent marker to temp tattoos and bar stamps...

    Worth a try!

    Hand sanitizer also works magic.

I second nail polish remover and hand sanitizer. I've used hand sanitizer to take permanent marker off a table one. I also used to use it when people would use real pens to write on the credit card pinpad.

It's Japanese Cherry Blossom. One of its ingredients is Asian Pear so maybe there's citrus there? Either way, GREEN!

I actually didn't think to try rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover. I was so busy WTF-ing I fixated on soap :P I just tried it and it got most of it off, but there's still a small hint of it.

At least I can take amusement in the fact that it was on my wirsts and neck and so people probably thought BF and I are super kinky Wink

And don't worry, Paige. My best friend is STILL laughing at me about this, and it's been a full day :P

    LMAO

I sure hope it comes off! I was in a production of The Wizard of Oz with some friends in high school, and my buddy Mary was one of the Emerald City's citizens. The green stage paint stained everyone's skin! It took almost a week to fade entirely. All I can say is--wearing reds and pinks, which are opposite green on the color wheel, will make the color stand out more! So I'd stick to another color of blouse...

Haha, I had this EXACT SAME THING happen when I was 13!  I was in a production of Wizard of Oz, was the "General of the Ozian Army" and had my hair slicked back with gel, a mustache painted on, and green skin.  Well, I made my Mom let me call in sick to school the whole next week because my hair was greasy and falling out in chunks, my face was tinted green and covered in red pimples from the makeup, my eyes were red from the makeup dripping into them, and I had a brown line on my upper lip that did NOT look cool.  Yeah, that was probably my ugliest week EVER!
