Picked out tuxes today

I just had to share...we had a very eventful day today.  Tried to do a small registry at Sears for tools...so not worth our time (long story, but we're going to cancel that registry now and they probably won't be getting any of our business for quite some time).  Then FI, my dad and I went to pick out the tuxes.

Gotta give an academy award to the salesgirl at Men's Wearhouse - dad & FI got there before I did and got her in on their little "joke" about camo vests - with a very serious/professional demeanor, she tried to sell me on the camo, then she finally cracked and told me they set her up.

I've mentioned my colors before, but for the newbies or those who don't remember (aww, come on, you mean my wedding isn't the most important thing to everyone on this board? Wink) my colors are navy blue, red and white (not a patriotic theme, though).  My BM's will be wearing navy blue dresses; ring bearer will be wearing a red polo shirt with navy blue docker style pants and white vans sneakers; not sure on the flower girl yet, but most likely some cute dress in solid red or patterned red/white (think after Christmas clearance or pre-Valentine's sales).  So we decided that navy blue vests/ties would probably just be too dark, besides, red is FI's favorite color.

So, here is what we've decided on:
tux -

and then they have their choice of 2 different vests in apple (they'll all wear the same tie - it's the striped euro tie displayed with the Tuscany vest)

Yay for tuxes! Another thing crossed off the massive to-do list, right?!

I personally am partial to navy -- my colors were navy and lime. :) But I know lots of people who did red, and everything was beautiful!

We bought my H's navy suit at MW, and the guys in our WP also bought navy blazers there. We found out we had to be very on top of things -- phone calls to follow up, fittings, re-ordering, follow up calls, fittings, etc. They made quite a few mistakes, but at least they were always courteous, and we were really pleased with the quality of the clothing. Maybe b/c we didn't do tuxes we had more trouble? Any way, just a heads up to pay close attention. You seem like the type to do so, but thought I'd mention it JIC. :)

Thanks for quoting it. I hate when TK cuts half of everything like that! I also really like the striped tie.

    Thanks everyone.

Desert, I will definitely make note and make sure I stay on top of things - the gal that was helping us yesterday was great, she answered all of my questions before I could even ask them.  My brother used them for his tuxes 8 years ago and FI has a suit from them from a few years ago, but you never know from store to store how on top of things they'll be.

Lauren - how exciting we picked the same things...the pictures just don't do them justice.  When she pulled out the samples to show me, I knew right then they were perfect - so sharp looking.

ekath - when it expands it out like that, it's so frustrating - I played with it for a 1/2 hour or more last night and finally gave up, I was getting so annoyed.  I'm glad I was able to post the pictures in (some sites won't let you copy/save them) and doing that we're able to send a pic to all the guys so they know what they'll be wearing before they go for their fittings.

I love the tux with the standard straight tie. That looks really sharp.

Love it!! You got the same ones as we did - obviously not in navy or with red vests but the same Herringbone tux. Love.Love.Love!
