    1. The only makeup I own is from CVS. I'm doing my own wedding makeup. I'm going to the mall to buy some. What brand is the best?
I would definitely go to the counters and pick one you like. They can do your make-up for you and write down exactly what they did if you buy it. Then all you have to do is practice it at home.

    2. What's a good intro song?
My friends entered to I gotta feeling - Black Eyed Peas...it was like a stadium entrance. I don't think that's what you're going for though (and I would want it either).

    3. And cake cutting song?
Love you Madly - Cake. Because it's by cake and you're cutting cake, get it...haha...

    4. What else should I put in my BM gifts (woven beach bag and beach towel? I don't want to do sunscreen or lotion kind of stuff. Nor a ton of little cheap things. I was thinking gourmet lemonade or ice tea box?)
By ice tea box did you mean this? Because they just started carrying it at my Wegmans and I burst out laughing because it looks like boxed wine!

    5. Should I have a display cake or no? I keep going back and forth.
    Yes.

I only feel qualified to talk makeup, so here goes:

Urban Decay Primer Potion is a must--keeps your eyeshadow in place for hours and hours

Urban Decay 24/7 eye pencils are good too if you like pencil liner. Bourbon is a pretty brown shade

MAC eyeshadows are great. If you go to a genuine MAC store, you can build your own palettes. These use smaller eyeshadows, so they're a little cheaper.

MAC also makes the two step lipgloss stuff that doesn't come off. I can't remember the name at the moment. It is a little drying, but the only thing that makes it budge is oil. You could also consider a lip stain. My friend had a Revlon one that was quite nice.

For brushes, I like synthetic fibers. There's a brand called Eco-Tools that makes really nice synthetic brushes that you can find at places like Walgreens or ULTA and they're reasonably priced (like $10 for a set of five brushes).

Smashbox also makes good primers for face.  I'm no help on foundation, though, because it all makes my face feel nasty.

MAC stores will give you tutorials with purchase, and Sephora also just started this, too.

Kat -- I would give Sephora a try.

They can pick the best products for YOU from a bunch of different lines, and they will show you how to apply it, too. I think they have a pretty good return policy, too. I'd go now and keep playing around til you find what you like.

We're entering to Enter Sandman. Not your style, I know, but you asked. :)

And we're also using Cake Love You Madly for cake cutting!

And I like the iced tea/lemonade idea.

Sorry if I'm saying what others have already suggested.. :)

    1. The only makeup I own is from CVS. I'm doing my own wedding makeup. I'm going to the mall to buy some. What brand is the best?

I think it depends on if you plan on investing in makeup to wear more often or just want to look really polished on the big day. I love these youtube videos by Emily Noel (her channel is called beauty broadcast)-- she gives tons of reviews and tutorials, and she uses a lot of drugstore products that are readily available. She is also just very personable and knows what she is talking about!

I don't own much high-end makeup, I have a hard time justifying it. I do however love my Arbonne mineral powder foundation. Also, for brushes I love Eco Tools (they are super soft, synthetic, with bamboo handles... I think someone else suggested them too).

    2. What's a good intro song?

I don't really know much about your style, but I would probably do something like a favourite Jack Johnson song (mellow and relaxed) or a boppy oldies/ classic song.

    3. And cake cutting song?

    No clue, sorry!

    4. What else should I put in my BM gifts (woven beach bag and beach towel? I don't want to do sunscreen or lotion kind of stuff. Nor a ton of little cheap things. I was thinking gourmet lemonade or ice tea box?)

Flip flops, a charm bracelet, a handmade necklace if that is your cup of tea.

    5. Should I have a display cake or no? I keep going back and forth.

Personally, I'd rather just have one beautiful tasty cake. I've never understood why a display cake is necessary. Perhaps someone can enlighten me?

    Makeup:

I swear by Victoria Secret makeup for special evenings out. But for everyday try E.L.F.  They have 3 lines - E.L.F everything is $1!!!, Studio everything is $3 and Mineral - Everything is $5.  I personally find their mineral line very similar to Bare Essentials.  If there is a Target near you they just started carying the ELF and Studio lines.  You could go there and buy a bunch of stuff and try it out.  If you want to look their website is eyeslipsface.com.  I would personally reccommend the mineral eye shadows.  Hope that helps.

I know I'm a bit late to the party on this one BUT having just done my own make-up for my wedding I HIGHLY reccomend you go to Sephora and ask for lots of help!  Avoid anything with mica in it, everyone in bare minerals looked washed out by the flash in some of the photos and you don't want to look like a ghost.  I don't wear a lot of make-up and was on a budget, and they made me multiple "samples" of most things to use so I didn't have to buy much.  Also try a finishing powder to help your make-up last all day, I sweat like crazy on the dance floor and my make-up didn't move an inch!
