    Cool! My sorority was Phi Sigma Sigma, but we started as just a local chapter - Alpha Kappa Phi. When we had to go national in the 70's, they went with Phi Sig. Our colors were king blue and gold. During hazing we had interviews, where we had to answer what our favorite colors were and we had to say blue and gold. One of my friends said pink and purple, and when they asked her if she REALLY meant blue and gold, she said, "No. I'm sorry, I know I'm supposed to say that, but I really like pink and purple!!"

    Oh hazing was totally frowned upon. It's illegal. But we still did it. I know that most Greek life organizations do not partake in that anymore, but at my school it was rampant. We referred to the process as "New Member Organization" on the outside, but on the inside everyone within Greek life knew it was hazing.

    It was actually quite an experience. Everyone before me had "earned" their colors this way, it felt right to do it at the time. Still a very stupid, dangerous and pointless way of doing things though, I agree. When I was a sister and we had new pledges, I could never bring myself to be mean to them the way we were supposed to. I was ALWAYS voted nicest sister.

    My favorite color is phthalocyanine blue (Copper III phthalocyanine)

     


    But, since my BF can't pronounce it, I usually just say midnight blue.
    I also love scarlet, especially on roses!
