Tafft, how are you paying $1500/mo for a one-bedroom in Dublin? Our place is $1600 for 2 bedrooms/2 bath.

Even though our place is a pretty decent price for the area, I was bummed when they said our rent is going up $30/mo in August. But it took over two years to get a rent increase.

Want to hear expensive? One of my coworkers pays $2000/mo for a one-bedroom apartment. That's not in a major city or anything, either.

We totally got hosed on our place. Dublin rent prices have skyrocketed since 2 years ago - our original rent for the same place was 1200 - still high but we are located in a very high end condo area , so it shoots the prices higher. Also our complex is one of the very few in Dublin that accepts Section 8 low income housing vouchers so those who do pay , literally pay more because they lose profit - it's terrible here - and not one group is to blame , the company has an F rating with the BBB to give an idea and also one of the only places a registered offender can live..nice eh ?

Our potential apartment in Castro Valley is 950 sq feet - with water and garbage included - with no pet rent - ( we currently pay 50 bucks extra per month for that also) and is a 2 bedroom for under 1100. We are hoping they still have one open when we move in 2 months !

We are getting gouged and we know it , it's just been so bad. Trust me everytime we see 1500 dedcut from our account we cringe a little more inside.
