Moving. Is. Exhausting O_o

This week has been so hectic. I helped my mom move out of our house on Wednesday and Thursday. We all had to be out by Thursday night and the house had to be what realtors call "broom clean". Basically, clean to the naked eye. I was not there to help pack the truck on Thursday because I couldn't take the day off work, but I helped clean (4 hours). Mom had the closing on Friday morning and moved into her new condo Friday night!

I'm still helping her unpack boxes and building newly-acquired Ikea furniture. All of my stuff is in her garage for now, except one suitcase and two plastic storage bins full of my clothes. I had more stuff than I thought I did - you never know til you put it into boxes, am I right? She can't even put her car in her garage!

Right now I've been getting very little sleep because of the move, but right now there's a lull. In only NINE DAYS BF and I will be moving into our own place - a week ago we signed our lease and made it official! It's going to be a long week but boy are we excited!

You're right - you never realize how much stuff you have till you start packing it up.  I've been going through my house organizing and cleaning and making room for FI to move in (either wedding week or 3 months before - and into my guest room for 3 months - if his apartment complex decides to charge him double rent for 3 months, ugh, long story).  I've cleared out so much stuff - having a yard sale sometime in the next couple months (and one after the wedding) to hopefully make a little bit of cash on all our extra stuff.

Agreed on the not knowing how much stuff you have until you try to put it in boxes. I also never realized how difficult it is to downsize either! BF has a lot more stuff than I do, but for rarely buying things I've gotten quite the collection of things over the few years I've been alive.

Yay for moving in! I'm jealous! ;)

Good luck on your move! I love moving because it forces me to organize and purge all my crap, it just seems to suck when you are physically moving it all...

It will all be worth it when you are relaxing with your man in your new place

Breezer, I've been purging for over a YEAR and I still have so much crap I don't know what to do! Luckily, most of BF's boxes are full of clothes. He's not as sentimental as I am. I mean, I have a box of Barbies and about 3-4 boxes of stuffed animals I can't bear to part with! Let's just say I'm so happy my new place will have 2 walk-in closets...

But you're right. The end result is sweet =)
