What are you up to today?

I'm at home huddled up on my couch with some pretty terrible cramps. :(

What are you all up to today?

Sometimes people absentmindedly make this mistake.  I know the difference between the two, but I make grammar mistakes all the time.  Most of the time I'm on here, or surfing the internet, because I'm procrastinating my homework.  Procrastination is usually hurried and void of good grammar.  My BF who has AWESOME grammar (he is fluent in German and needs impeccable english grammar to speak the language) made me little canisters that contained slips of why he loves me for Vday.  Guess what? He made some grammar mistakes, such as "are" instead of "our".  I find that most grammar mistakes on NEY are due to rushed typing/absentmindedness.

There are people who truly don't understand the difference between "your" and "you're" and I understand your frustration with that.  It irks me as well.  What really bugs is when people post on FB how everyone has awful grammar, yet it takes a few times of reading their post to understand what they are trying to say.

THANK YOU for posting this! Poor grammar (not grammer) is one of my biggest pet peeves! I can't stand when people type "are" instead of "our", mix up their, there and they're and all that kind of stuff. Funny thing is I went to a French school so there wasn't even that much emphasis placed on English, a lot of my friends don't get why it annoys me so much when teachers barely touched on the difference in school!

Complaining about grammar is totally justifiable!

I am trying to finish my weekend homework before going to a baby shower today! Very unsuccessful with the homework thing so far.

I'm so sorry about the cramps! Eat a banana and get your DH to rub your back.

I think the mistake is probably made by people being in a rush. I know the difference, but if I'm typing on a forum, I am typically not thinking about grammar rules. I am constantly confused by then and than. Everytime I have to look it up. You would think after the 200th time of looking it up, I'd finally remember it.

And I'm trying to get my life back together after missing an entire week of school. Need to work on lesson plans and straighten up the house. But, I really want to lay on the couch, watch chick flicks, and nap. I still don't feel good.

Bananas are my go-to for cramps as well as sick stomach feelings.  I have GERD and am prone to getting sick with different foods and bananas always help me.

Next time you have stomach aches, try a banana.

    Bananas are miracle foods, IMO.

Sounds like were both couch bound today. My foot throbs any time I get up, whether I put weight on it or not, so I am staying on the couch and keeping it elevated as much as possible :/ Have you tried stretching your stomach or doing crunches? When I lay as straight as I can for a few seconds it usually helps a little bit.

My bf and I are going shopping today. My team is having a sale on a whole bunch of stuff and since we're planning on going to every single home game this year (except possibly one that falls on the weekend of an annual family reunion) I told him he at least needs a hat, if not a jersey. Then I'm gonna get a parrafin heater (and obviously wax!) and pick up some stuff for the fish tank.

I love bananas. They are delicious.

M, I've just been kind of slouching on the couch, and was curled up in bed before that, so I will try to do some stretches and see if that helps.

    Thanks for the suggestions, girls.

Futuremrs, what team/sport are you into?

Thanks. I keep hoping my cats will learn how to straighten up my house. That would be awesome. You know, all I want the cats to do is learn how to do laundry, fill the dishwasher, and mop the floors. Is that really too much to ask?

Ember, cats need to be more functional.  If my kitty fed herself, as well as made me all my meals, I would be happy.

If only there was a way to have a cat with posable thumbs!

Wow, I hope everyone feels better!  Sunbird, I've never had food poisoning, but have heard that it is awful, so I hope it's not that!

Today I'm just trying to enjoy myself by hanging out with bf and family.  Bf and I went to church this morning and later this afternoon we are headed over to my parents' house for some burgers and such.  Yesterday I tried getting cleaning off the list--it's most of the way done!  Maybe we could figure out a way to have a Jetson style robot to do the cleaning we don't enjoy!

As far as grammar is concerned, it can drive me nuts too when I see some obvious mistakes.  But it always seems that once I think bad thoughts about someone's mistake, I make one of my own!  And one that I can never keep straight (even after looking it up--still doesn't always make sense to me) is effect/affect.  So confusing!

I hate cramps. And I hate food poisoning. sounds like we're all under the weather.

It's so snowy outside. We're supposed to get 10-14 inches today. I came home for the weekend from college, and need to get back there, but it's so snowy outside that I'm not sure I should try....

I missed a grammar rant?  This makes me sad.  I would have enjoyed it.

Desert and Sunbird, I hope you feel better soon.

I literally JUST got out of bed, and it's 2 pm here.  My cat was in a mood last night, apparently, and kept me awake all night.  Meowing, growling at the ceiling fan, torturing the dog, attempting to climb the curtains...  you name it.

I'm a Winnipeg Blue Bombers fan, which is a CFL team, the Canadian equivalent of the NFL, but our season starts in July and ends in November. It kind of has to because from December- February we get like -40 and colder temperatures here on a regular basis. And given that cities here aren't as big, to sell out a 28000 seat stadium or even get enough people would be tough, especially considering sometimes we have trouble selling out in the summer! Although that could also be because so many people go out to the lake for weekends when the games are on. Oh and for those of you who know anything about the CFL it goes without saying that I HATE the Saskatchewan Roughriders!

Hey y'all! Just popping in to say hi.

I'm kicking domestic bootay today. Emptied all of the little trash cans around the house, cleaned up the kitchen/swept, cleaned the litter box, and about to head out into a very gusty winter day in order to get fun things at Target like toilet paper and laundry detergent. Yay, exciting! Ha.

Hope everyone who's laid up feels better soon!

Sorry everyone is sick...Sunbird, girl, you just can't catch a break with sickness lately.  Desert - I rarely get cramps and when I do get them, I'm not really sure I can classify them as cramps, more of just some pressure and being uncomfortable, but my mom said she would miss a day of school in high school 'cause she was doubled over in pain.  I feel for you.  When I do get that pressure feeling, a heating pad and a cup of hot tea always make me feel better.

As for what I'm doing today...
-watching the Daytona 500 (and on the computer during cautions and commercials)
-waiting for texts from one of my BMs (she lives out of state in a small town); she hasn't been able to find a dress near her home so she went about an hour away and has found 6 dresses so far (now she's headed back to try on the top 2 and see which she likes best)
-just finished putting stickers on one of the favors and getting ready to tie the mints onto the other favors
-making birthday cards and a get well type card (a dear friend at church has been on a waiting list for a lung transplant for 7 years and 2 months ago she got moved to the top of the list -we kept telling her the best wedding present she could give me was to miss my wedding 'cause she got a lung...well, she got the call this morning and is in surgery right now)
-trying to find the hole in the air mattress of my bed (similar to a sleep number, but a very old/cheaper version of it) to patch it to allow us more time to save up money  (or hope to get lots of wedding gift money) to get a new regular mattress.

That's all I'm doing right now...I'm sure I'll find something else to do as well (or rather something else to avoid so I can play on the computer).

I hope everyone who is feeling icky gets better quick!

I've done NOTHING today except lounge around in my pajamas today. I was very hungover this morning after drinking a huge pina colada (with two extra shots in it) for a friend's birthday and then, uh, "ironically" seeing the Justin Bieber movie.

    I hate bad grammar, too!

Sorry about the cramps and food sickness.  For the cramps, I swear by a heating pad.  Those stick-on ones you buy at CVS are my savior during the workday, and I've got my plug-in one at home.

I spent my day at my second job - I took on a Sunday job teaching sailing.  It sort of fell on my lap, and I figured I'd get to be on the water, get a little sailing in, and get paid for it.  Plus I get a bit of time hanging out with kids, which I miss since I was always a camp counselor growing up and I have 15 cousins that I miss terribly.  And it's just enough of a dose to keep any baby fever in check - those kids are sometimes a MAJOR pain in the neck!  How many times do I have to repeat myself before it lodges in their brains?!
