Intro Post

Hey everybody!

I'm Lindsay and my boyfriend is Chris. I'm 27 and he's 29.

We've been together for a year and just recently moved in together. We have a puppy named Fiona.

I've been lurking here for a while now, but have been on TK for a couple years when I was helping my friend plan her wedding. I just made this account based on my relationship as opposed to my friend's bridesmaid.

Let's see. I live in the New Orleans area now, but I moved here from the Lafayette area of Louisiana. I grew up in New Orleans so coming back home after two years was pretty weird for me.

I can't think of anything else, but here is a picture of Fiona.

  • Hi! I'm a Louisiana girl too! I live in sucky Mississippi right now but I grew up in Shreveport and went to LSU for college. I really like Lafayette. What brought you back to NO?
  • ... come on, man, there has to be at least one thing you dislike about your boyfriend :|.

  • I came back to NOLA because I had a house here and financially it was the best option until we can sell the house and move back to Lafayette.

I'm sure that there is something I don't like about him, but I can't think of it at the moment. He doesn't have any weird habits or anything. He's not lazy or untidy and he takes care of me just like I take care of him. If I think of something, I'll let you know.

  • So what made you finally start to post/come out of lurker shadows? Just tired of reading and wanted to start talking? Had a question? Just curious. :)

As for your BF, don't think of it as something you don't like about him, think of it as the thing you like least about him. I am sure you have things you like more than others. However, I think it is perfectly normal (and natural) to have things you don't like about your SO. I don't feel you have to like the person 100% how they are, you just have to be accepting on the person. FI does this really funny thing with his teeth that gets on my nerves. It is a habbit of his, and just drives me crazy!

So, what's your favorite wine? Cheese? Book? Movie? TV Series? Author? Do you cook? I'm sure others will have more questions too. :) Welcome!

Ok, so I just thought of something. When he's sick and all stopped up or whatever. He has really exaggerated sneezes and then he claims he doesn't know what I'm talking about, but with a smile on his face. I know he does and he knows he does. When I've called him out of it, it ends in laughter because I know he's full of it. He's sort of getting over a cold right now so that's the best I can do at the moment.

I'm more of a fruity, daiquiri drinker rather than I wine drinker. I guess cheddar is my favorite cheese.

My favorite books of all time are Harry Potter and then I guess that would make my favorite author JK Rowling.

I'm a terrible cook and the extent of my culinary talents are that of mac and cheese and spaghetti.

Oh and I came out of lurkerdom because I wanted to post on other people's posts and I knew I had to introduce myself first so here I am!

    Thanks for the welcomes!

Um, this board already has a Louisiana girl who loves Harry Potter. I'm afraid there's no room for you here.

    ...

Of course I'm kidding. I like you already.

Edit: Your favorite book selection is wrong, though. Everybody knows 5 and 7 are the bests. Sorry. :)

That would be my favorite book/movie out of the series too. :) Just thought I would add that in!

Edit: Book 5! No way! Lol. Just no />.< and, and, and... the worst thing ever happens in that book. No, no. In my mind book 5 does not exist. It just doesn't. *Cries in a corner.* And book 7... J.K. Rowling just kills off all my favs, so again, 7 doesn't exist either. LOL.

No, I haven't yet. I hadn't even heard of it until the movies came out, but by that point, I was moving and what not.

I'm getting around to it after I finish some other books I want to read.

I agree book 5 was a bit rough. LOL My favorite part of book 7 was the epilogue.

  • Welcome! I think Prisoner of Azkaban might be my favorite too.

What is your favorite part about living in New Orleans? I've never been there, and I'm dying to go.

Who are your favorite poster? Least favorite? What are your favorite type of threads? Least?

    PS. Fiona is adorable.

I never really had a favorite part about living here because I grew up here, so it was just home, but I guess in the town I live in, I like how everything you need to right there. Nothing is more than five minutes away from my house.

If my memory serves, I think that bethsmiles has been around here for quite sometime on this board, but everyone else is sort of new to me. I lurked back when Mutley was around and she always provided quiet a number of laughs, so either of them I suppose.

I don't really have a least favorite except maybe the typical "I'm not engaged, but my venue is all ready to go just in case" girls. Not regulars, but the drive-by posters.

I think my favorite posts have proven to be the ones where the girls get told what-for. LOL It provides entertainment and I guess those are also my least favorite because it's so sad that they are that delusional.

Thanks about Fiona. She is a 2 and a half year old Maltese/Poodle mix and I love her to pieces.

    Blasphemy!

I knew I was going to ruffle some feathers by saying Book 5 is my favorite. Phoenix doesn't seem to have very many fans, and that makes me really sad.

Yeah, Sirius dies in Book 5. Yeah, it was sad and I was devastated and I cried for days (no joke) afterward, but it had to happen to move the plot forward and it wasn't enough to ruin the rest of Book 5 for me.

So many of my favorite HP moments happen in Book 5. I could go on and on... The DA... Neville starting to realize his badass potential... McGonagall defending Harry in his career advice session... Harry giving an interview to the Quibbler... Luna Lovegood... Seeing Lockhart in the mental ward... the whole school banding together against Umbridge (like McGonagall telling Peeves how to unscrew the chandelier)... Fred and George letting off their fireworks everywhere... Ginny becoming awesome... Harry's pathetic attempts to date Cho... Dumbledore's amazing escape from his office after taking the blame for the DA...

Really, I just don't get how anyone could not love that book.

I love Luna <3 but Neville Longbottom and Draco Malfoy (I just love his character's story) are my favorites.

The 5th movie was my favorite (which is weird because it is my least favorite book). My favorite book is a tie between Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban :)

Elle - FTR I don't dislike book 5 because Sirius died (even though I cried like a baby). Harry was just SO whiny. But I'm not sure I've even re-read it since the movie and I'm thinking I need to since I really loved the 5th movie so obviously I enjoyed the plot of that book.

  • Prisoner of Azkaban is my favorite also. Order of the Phoenix is pretty epic, but PoA will forever be my favorite.

Meh... understatement of the century, but I'll take it.
  • I don't dislike book 5 either. It was just a bit lengthy and took a bit to pick up, but since I love the whole Harry Potter story, I don't dislike any one book.

    I love the series.
