T&P Pronto.

Hello ladies.

Jeff (FI) lost his job today. He was contract with a company in the cities and tomorrow was the day that they said they'd either turn him permanent or they'd let him go.  They let him go. :(  They said he wasn't 'working hard enough', which is ridiculous. He was working late nights to get everything done that he'd been told he needed to do and he did everything that he was asked to do before the let go/hire date. It sucks. He's pretty down and I've been crying all night. This couldn't happen at a worse time with wedding stuff beginning to happen again.  Rrrrrr.

Thought and prayers please. That he'll find a job super duper soon and that I'll be able to be strong and quit being so emotional over this.

Cry

    Aw, Hope, that sucks.

Lots of vibes to you.  Hopefully, this happened for a reason and there's a much better job waiting for him.

I'm so sorry! That is so sad that they couldn't see the value in keeping him. Unfortunately I think a lot of companies are hiring temps or contract workers to avoid paying benefits. Your Fi was probably only let go to save a dime. Dang this economy!

Praying that you and your FI stay strong through this and that he is able to find something better soon!

Lots and lots of positive energy coming your way...and to your FI too. How does he feel about his resume? Does he want me to take a peek at it?

Also...I suggest applying for every single staffing agency in the area....and then calling up and saying, "Hi...I'm Polkadot's FI- and I just applied online. What's the next step? Can I come in for some skills testing or an informal interview?"

A lot of temp positions turn into a perm position- and besides...just making contact with someone in your job search is a self-esteem booster.

I would be more then happy to talk to your FI about some job hunting strategies...PM me if you think he might be interested...I do it for a job after all, you know. :)

"Polkadot's FI WILL FIND A JOB. POLKADOT WILL START FEELING PEACE....Because all things happen for a reason."

I think something better is waiting out there...

    Love ya!

Oh, bummer! I"m so sorry! It sounds like they were jerks anyway--with him working that hard, and it wasn't hard enough. He'll be happier with another job that doesn't expect their employees to bleed for them.

I'm sorry lady :( That is the SUCK. A similar thing happened to me at my last job, where I was told that I didn't have "enough of a sense of urgency" about the work I was doing - I stayed late, I did two to three people's job on any given day, and it boiled down to the fact that since I wasn't outwardly showing my stress level (read: being a b!tch like everyone else in the office), they thought I wasn't doing as much as I was. They regretted it the moment they let me go, as I'm sure Jeff's supervisors will. It ended up being a blessing in disguise, because I hated that job, and I am now in a job that I really like, where my work and attitude are extremely appreciated.

Thoughts and prayers out to you and Jeff that he find something better soon, and that you feel better about everything. Keep your chin up, everything will be okay!

Sending vibes to you and your FI! What a crappy thing to have to deal with ever, nevermid when you're trying to plan your wedding. Ughh. But like PPs said, everything happens for a reason and I hope he finds a great job soon where his hard work is appreciated!
