Weekend Plans

So last weekend, BF and I had a super planned weekend.

This weekend, we basically have no plans except a Super Bowl party.

So...what are you all doing?  Care to inspire us (me) with your ideas for the weekend?

(we have major end of winter ADD in these parts...)

My mom's coming in on Wednesday, an abstract submission due for a meeting next Monday, and a research trip to Austria to prep for, so my weekend is going to be lots of work.

I am planning on hitting the farmers markets with FI on Saturday morning...going to make some fresh bread (triple berry bread and meyer lemon poppyseed) and some blood orange chocolate muffins for my mom's visit sometime over the weekend.

Friday night and Saturday morning I'm planning to finish painting our office and hopefully get the furniture moved back inside.

Saturday afternoon I have to help out in the kitchen for a Bonspiel.

Sunday I have brunch with friends who are intown visiting and then a SuperBowl party to go to.

Somewhere in there I need to do laundry, clean the house and grocery shop.

I don't think my weekend is very inspiring for anyone unfortunately.

Well tomorrow I'm going to a parade back at home and I"ll get to see FI. Just for a few hours during the parade (my aunt is brining me home with her family and back after the parade), but I am still super excited. I haven't seen him for a few weeks since I've been at school.

I also get to help some kids ride horses tomorrow morning early, which is always a blast.

Then Sunday, the superbowl. Since I go to school in WI, but am a vikings fan normally, I really don't want to root for my rival, the Packers. But looks like I'll suck it up for this game.

i am a BM in a wedding and FI is singing/ushering.  so we have the rehearsal and dinner tonight, and then i'll be at the church starting at 9:45 getting ready and taking pictures...  the ceremony starts at 2, so i'm hoping that i'll still have time that evening to make a big batch of minestrone!  it'll be a busy weekend for sure.

Yes, yes, I'm cheering for the Packers because....the other team is the Steelers?  And well, BF likes the Ravens (and therefore hates the Steelers) so...I get in trouble if I cheer for them.  Plus, Raji is my gma's neighbor.  So that's awesome.

Raji is your grandma's neighbor? Well that's pretty awesome!  I hope they win because then everyone on campus will just be in an extremely good mood next week.

I have to run 8 miles tomorrow morning, then having breakfast with BF.  We're grocery shopping all day, and putting laundry away (we've got piles and piles of it on the guest bed, and I'm in my insomnia phase pre-event, so I need the guest bedroom to escape to when I can't sleep).

Saturday night, BF bought tickets to the Symphony so we're going out to dinner at our favorite German restaurant (yummy weiner schnitzel!) and then to see the show.

Sunday I will be working - I just signed up for a part time job, which might have been a crazy thing to do but I'm excited about it!  I'll be teaching sailing on Sundays to 8-11 year olds.  I haven't gotten to be near boats in over 2 years since it's so expensive - when I was in college, I was on the club team and in high school I competed, so I was always sailing.  It's really awesome that I'll be on the water all day every Sunday, and I get to get some kid time (just enough to nip any baby fever in the butt).  I'll also be making a pretty penny as I'll be the director of the program, so even though it's only a few hours every Sunday, it'll give me a fair bit more spending money each month (or savings, if I behave myself).

Then we're off to a Super Bowl party at the house of a senior-ranking Marine JAG Officer.  BF met him while planning a panel at the law school about law careers in the military, and the guy seems to have taken a mentoring role to BF, which is great.  It should be fun, but I'm a little nervous!  I'm bringing buffalo chicken dip and something else... trying to figure out what I want to make! Either "seven layer dip" or brown sugar chicken wings.

I think we're bringing buffalo chicken dip if that helps your decision ;)

We just took up windsurfing over the summer and we're both super excited to get back to it (when it's not 30 degrees anymore) - not QUITE sailing, but a lot of the same principles (or so I hear) :)

ETA: Raji's PARENTS are really my gma's neighbor.  He grew up there, though :)  And is building them a fantastic house.

I'm def bringing buffalo chicken dip, just not sure about the other one - either another dip or brown sugar chicken wings.  Neither BF or I will eat the chicken wings, but they're usually a huge hit, so I dunno.

Windsurfing is awesome!  Truly an awesome adrenaline rush.  I used to teach that, too, but my equipment is as old as dirt and still at my parents' house, so I haven't done that in probably 4-5 years now.  Someday I'll have to buy a new rig, because I love it so much!  It takes ridiculous core and upper body strength, as well as stability, when the wind is ripping and you've got a big sail.  I had the best arms and abs when I was teaching sailing/windsurfing all summer!  I want to learn how to kite surf next... that looks really fun!

Dress shopping for me and my bridesmaids on Saturday.

Sunday, I'll be watching the Super Bowl all alone (FI and I typically watch it together, but this year he'll be in KY and I'll be in OH) and working on lesson plans. I might go crazy and order pizza.

Superbowl party on Sunday. Trying not to get hurt / arrested / killed in the madness that will be the riots after the game.

I'll probably be making soft pretzels and poblano cheese dip for the party. I've been taking a baking class so I'm eager to try out my skillz.

Well today I'm heading to my BF's to spend like 2 hours with him after he wakes up and before he heads to work again (he works nights..blah) And then tomorrow he said he has "something planned for us"...which probably means that we're going to get the pizza that I told him I wanted last weekend but we didn't end up getting. (He's not too creative, so that's what I suspect :p ) And Sunday...we're going to be lazy. I'm going to write a paper and then we're going to watch the Super Bowl (rooting for the Packers of course :) haha)

The only thing that really matters this weekend (to FI at least) is the Super Bowl. FI is from WI therefore he is a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE Green Bay fan. We will be heading to a local Packer bar to cheer on the Green and Gold.
