What to do?

My BF and I moved in together less than a month ago into a town where we only really know eachother. This week BF is away on training in Florida at a hotel on the beach...so jealous. So, I'm at home - taking care of the dog (his dog prior to the move in and who doesn't view me as an authority whatsoever...Huskies are tricky), doing a slightly longer commute because I have to work around the bus schedule....plus I have given myself a list of projects to do while he is gone to keep myself occupied - am I crazy considering I only have 4 available hours in the evening?

I'd wait until after tonight to see if your crazy or not. I usually make lists of things to do when FI it OOT but rarely do 1/2 of them. It'll keep you occupied and if not, you and the pup can have bonding time. Try reading up on training tricks online to train the dog on letting him know your the "alpha dog". In my experience, huskies are wild. I'd try to let him know who's boss before he walks all over you (literally and figuratively). My dog loves training, you just need to find a good treat he likes and will listen to you with.

Keeping busy can be good but make time for yourself as well. I know I do not do well being alone without FI around , let alone when he has to be away for work.

Do something fun  , enjoy yourself , and remember the time will pass rather quickly and then he will be back and it won't be so lonely. Hang in there ;)

I guess I just find it a little difficult since normally I look forward to being alone in my living situation considering I have always had roommates. This time I'm in this big old house that doesn't totally feel like home yet alone - sigh. It's an adjustment.

As for training a husky, it is hard. My BF has done a lot with him, so he is pretty well behaved. Trying to make him see that I am in an alpha position has involved wrestling, tackling and pinning, everytime he gets pinned he is sbumissive to me from then on. It's just that he constantly pushs the limits.
