Spaghetti Squash

I'm making spaghetti squash for the first time tonight and was wondering if anyone has any good recipes or tips on making it. I've heard you can actually use spaghetti sauce with it. Is that really good?

I'd also love a good pork chop recipe if anyone has one! : )

Oh and I told FI that for my birthday I just want to spend it with him, a movie, wine and a cupcake ... a big one, lol. I'm going to check on that skinnytaste recipe for a healthier/less fat option, but I'm open to suggestions for that as well.

I love spaghetti squash! We are actually having it tomorrow night...here is one recipe I make with it. I either grill chicken or tenderloin for the meat or FI sautes shrimp http://www.grouprecipes.com/29385/low-fat-alfredo-sauce.html

Another one I like is from cooking light, not sure on the name, but dice up a whole yellow onion, two tomatos and saute them in a tbsp of olive oil, once that is done add in 2 tbsp of chopped garlic, slowly stir in low fat or fat free whipping cream to make a creamy sauce to liking, pinch of salt and pepper or other seasonings for taste (if you want it thicker mix some cornstarch with water then slowly stir that in until you get consistency you want). This recipe calls for making cajun shrimp but we grill chicken boobs with cajun seasoning then cut into slices and top over spaghetti squash or regular noodles. Then top with parmesan cheese.

I usually just toss it with some butter or olive oil and then sprinkle it with some good parmesan cheese. So simple and so yummy!

ok - totally stealing this idea in the future.  Maybe I could get BF to like it if it was dripping in garlic!

I've never made spaghettie squash so I'm not help there but what about these for pork chops:

double crunch honey pork chops (I haven't made these yet but they look so good!)

apple sage stuffed pork chops with cider pan sauce

pork chops with pomegranate pan sauce and garlicky green beans

I've never tried making it but I have friends who make spaghetti squash lasagna or other 'pasta' type dishes. I googled and found one on skinny taste that looks good! Click!

I usually just add a bit of oil and throw it in the oven until you can poke through it with a fork.. boring I know, but I love it and BF hates all forms of squash so I don't do anything fancy for just me.

I like pork chops with apples. http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/pork-recipes/old-school-pork-chops-with-apples-sa I probably wouldn't do it like he shows, but same basic ingredients, and I love my slow cooker so I would throw it all in there for the day instead.

I don't think I've ever had spaghetti squash before.  How is that possible?

Is it delicious?  Does it taste like other kinds of squash?

No its freaking good! I hate other squashes. Its simple to make too. I just cut them in half, scrape out the seeds, put the halves upside down in a cake pan, put about an inch of water in it, oven on 400 for about 45 mins depending on the size. Once its cooked you fork it out into strings almost like spaghetti
