Ms. Klutz strikes again - find me some bubble wrap

I am such a klutz.Embarassed  Since I was a little girl, if I didn't have a bruise in a weird place or weird illness or injury, things just weren't normal.  Last night I grabbed the fly swatter to kill a cricket (yeah, I've already heard that's bad luck , but I can't stand those things) - I was leaning over the 4-poster bed in the guest room and managed to catch the edge of the post as I was swatting the bug - hit the corner of my eyebrow, right on the bone.  Thankfully this morning it is not black and blue, just a little swollen and sore to the touch.  When I called FI to tell him what I had done, he said he was going to wrap me in bubble wrap until the wedding.

A couple months ago, I had the dishwasher open (it's broken, but I still use it as my dish drying rack) and turned around and smacked my shin right into it (hit so hard I still have the remnants of the bruise).

A few years ago, I was dancing around the house with my dog and managed to swing my arms and hit the edge of the bar/counter top separating the kitchen/great room and dislocated my pinky finger.

About 10 years ago, I was working as a receptionist - reached under the desk to grab my bag and it had gotten tangled up in all the cords (I'd been complaining for months about all the loose cords under the desk), I tugged and the cords won and kept my bag, but my hand kept pulling and my thumb smacked the underside of the desk - ended up with a broken thumb (at least that was worker's comp and they had to finally get me something to keep the cords cleaned up).

The list goes on and on (sorry this got so long)...so, tell me there are other klutzy people out there?

I'm like that, though I don't have many good stories.  I'm just always walking into things.  I also tend to have bruises and have no idea where they came from.

I ALWAYS have bruises on my legs, and I have no idea where they come from. While I was in So Cal a couple weeks ago I had a gnarly bruise on my foot that was very swollen. It lasted the entire trip, and I still have no idea what I did to it.

Yep, that's me too. I also have lame-o stories though. I never do anything cool - just dumb, like stubbing my toes, jamming my fingers, or hitting my head on things (like the wall, behind my bed). My injuries are generally minor, and go away in a week or so. It sounds like you tend to do things that are a bit more drastic, and take longer to heal :(

I do have 2 wicked scars though - 1 on each shin - from a childhood mishap though. I tripped over a rock, and that was that.

Haha... yes, I'm a klutz, too!  I keep walking into the corner of my bed and ending up with huge bruises on my thigh.

Let's see, I've broken my thumb playing football.  I was too lazy to get in front of the ball, so I just reached my hand out to tap it down and it bent my finger back.

I broke my foot in 3 places by kicking the side of a pool.  It was the very first night of a 7-day cruise, which sucked.

I've fallen into a bedpost while playing lasertag with my cousins once Christmas and gave myself a black eye.

That's really only the tip of the iceberg.

Klutz here as well.  There's a sick love affair betwen my shins and coffee tables.  Doesn't help that I bruise easily and uncoordinated.  So you're not alone, you have a sisterhood of klutzy peeps.

I'm the same way! I have bruises everywhere almost constantly mostly because i bruise EXTREMELY easily. I have cracked my head open and needed stitches 7 times and have sprained both my ankels twice and sprained two fingers. I guess I dont know which is worse that I am a klutz or that I am a tomboy who likes adventure.

My mom calls be grace: as in that I'm not. My fiance also says that my center of balance will be so much worse when I'm pregnant that he will need to crouch under me cradling my stomach when I walk so that I dont fall too much.

I'm glad to hear that so many other people are klutzy! I always thought I was the only super-klutzy person! I'm constantly tripping over nothing and running into the corners of walls and banging my elbows or hips. I can't count the number of times I've hit my head on cabinet doors and shut parts of my body in car and house doors.

    Yay for other klutzy people!

Thanks everyone, ya'll made me feel much better.  As the day has progressed, I do see a bit darker circle under the eye and it's still swollen, but at least it's not throbbing, so that's a blessing.

All the talk of bruising shins - every single time I go to Sam's Club, I come away with a bruise on my shin - just the way their carts are set up, I guess.

I guess the good thing about being so clumsy, if I keep going the way I am, I won't need to worry about finding a something blue.
