Show me some bling!

So BF asked me to try on a couple rings the other day. I thought I knew what I liked...but after trying a few on, I realized I have NO IDEA what I like! I'm so indecisive and I have no idea what to tell him now that he's trying to get a feel for what I might like.

SO...I thought it would be fun if you ladies helped me out! Post a pic of your gorgeous ring if you've got one - OR - a ring you'd absolutely love to have!!

Here's my bling bling, its a round cut with 7 small diamonds on each side.  I knew I was a vintage style person, just wasn't sure what though. FI gave me 3 choices and this is the one I picked.  Its a wedding set.  The first is the ring on the day he proposed, the second pic is FI holding the wedding set.  Keep trying on rings and note what you like and don't like.  Good luck, I know there are so many choices out there and so many pretty rings.

My dream ring is boring, just a round solitaire with a plain platinum band. But it's what I love most.

Lyn, I had completely forgotten just how much I adore your ring.

We went to buy a princess cut, 3 diamond ring. I walked out with a round, 37 diamond ring :) You never know what you'll fall in love.

Ewww... It looks like I don't have full fingers in this picture. LOL

Does everyone plan to wear a wedding band along with their e-ring after the big day? I know that the band holds a lot of meaning to some people, but I've never thought i'd want one. My grandma has always just worn her round solitaire e-ring...and it looks beautiful.

I love looking at rings. I cant wear mine anymore. My fingers are too fat and the way the stones are set, it can't really be resized. It sucks because we might end up having to get a new ring. :(
    I'm not good at feelings.

This is what I am in love with at the moment. I would just like to wear the e-ring and say forget getting an actual band. But I doubt if that will work out.

Allusive, I'll wear a band because of the symbolism. But just a plain band.

I plan on wearing a wedding band with my engagement ring. I feel like the wedding band has more meaning compared to the engagement ring (IMHO).

I've found it nearly impossible to get a good picture of my ring.  The center stone is a moissanite, and it's so freaking sparkly that it's always just a big blur in photos.  If I take a picture in low enough light to avoid it, the sapphires look dull and gross.  Here's a pic anyway:

I wanna play :) Here is my e-ring: 18k white gold with a round sapphire center stone, diamonds in the halo.
    In the box

    On my hand

I will definitely be wearing a wedding band. We need to go shopping, but I'm thinking a very very thin white gold band with millgrain detailing to match the millgrain on my e-ring.

Oh, about the band question:  I'm not sure whether I want a wedding band or not.  I think my ring is blingy enough that I don't need one, but I also would like the option to wear just a band sometimes.  So I'm not sure.

It's a sapphire, though it looks quite purple at times!

I've had it for about a week and a half. I love it, but I am terrified of wearing it! I don't want to mess it up, lose it or have it stolen. I noticed some small scratches on the underside of the band a few days ago, and since then it has been sitting in it's box. FI is of the belief that it should only be worn on special occasions as well, so he's not really complaining.

We plan to get very simple matching bands to wear full time after the ceremony. It doesn't need to go with my E-ring, because we want to wear them on our right hands. Though I must admit, there are some really gorgeous bands that match my E-ring that I've been drooling over.

I definitely want a wedding band. I actually didn't really want an engagement ring and thought only a band would be fine. FI didn't feel the same way.

I can definitely see in the future times where I would wear the band only without the engagement ring.

musik- your ring is one of the ones I love too, haha. Yay for sapphires!

cschiano- Thanks! Yep, they're petals. I like that it looks like a pretty normal e-ring from the top, but from the side it's got the cool flower petals :D The prongs are tiny tiny little hearts too, haha.

I love seeing everyone's rings.  They are all sooo pretty!

Allusive - BF and I had a hard time deciding on something we BOTH liked.  I literally looked at hundreds of rings online and tried on at least 20 before I found "the one."

Here it is.  I don't have it yet. Smile

Just keep looking.  You will find exactly what you are looking for eventually.

I plan to wear a band with my ering after we get married.  I'm thinking something a little more blingy with the solitaire.

You know, the best advice I was given when we were looking at rings was to find someplace that would let you play. It seems like the big chain stores were all about TODAY'S sale and not worried about if we might come back later and buy. We finally found a small, family owned place, that when we said we wanted to look at engagement rings, the woman's eyes lit up and she said "Let's Play!" She let me try on everything I wanted and never pushed us to buy a thing. They gave us warm cookies and a drink and we spent the afternoon trying on rings. That was the place FI went back to buy. So, if you feel pressured, just walk out. We did that at plenty of places.

I told FI long before we got engaged that I didn't need a ring, but he's pretty old-fashioned (well, so am I) and he really wanted me to have one.  He picked it out all by himself, which means more to me than anything.  The picture isn't the greatest quality (can't wait till I have that nice professional picture), but it's a heart-shaped ruby and 3 white sapphires on each side

I had also told FI that I didn't need a band, since money is so tight, but he was insistent that we would make it work since he wanted me to have a band (and we were very pleased when he got a holiday bonus at work)- I have metal allergies, so we went with sterling silver.  My e-ring didn't have a matching band, but we found something that would work (doesn't match FI's band, but that didn't matter to us).  I don't have a picture of me wearing it, but click here and you can see the store's image of it.

    Thanks Bren!

Sapphirebaby your ring is gorgeous!  As for the wedding band question, I have a matching band as you can see in the picture, so the band looks weird without the e-ring.  If I ever just want to wear a wedding band I'll have to get another wedding band.
