Yet another intro

Hey all,

I've been lurking for a while and posted a little here and there, but I've decided it's probably time to introduce myself.

I am a 23 year old professional ballet dancer/retail slave (if you need a t-shirt folded, give me a call).  BF is 25 and recently graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy.  He's currently working in the naval research lab, but will begin aviation training in the fall.  There's no engagement in the near future for me because the aviation program is really intense and trying to start a marriage in the middle of it would just be silly.

I started browsing around the site because friends would send me pictures of stuff asking for opinions and slowly got sucked in. haha  It's fun to look around and daydream on particularly boring days.  Anyway, I came across this board and it never fails to be entertaining.  Plus, I'm sure a lot of the advice that shared will come in handy someday.

Hope you all are having a happy Friday!

Welcome, this site can suck you in if your not careful, LOL. How long have you been doing dance? I did tap and ballet as a kid and just got back into it last year (not on the professional level). I think the term "retail slave" fits for that type of job. It took me two years to get out of retail and I don't think my mind will ever recover. Too many Christmases can make the most sane go crazy.

    but anyways- Welcome!

eKathleen- I've been dancing since I was 3 although didn't decide to persue it professionally until I was 15 which is pretty late actually.  I was very lucky to have fabulous and very, very patient teachers and supportive parents to help me get where I am today.

Dwest- The aviation program is 1 1/2 to two years.  It's a little varied right now because of the volume of students and funding for the program.  He reports in November but might not actually start training until April.

Welcome fellow PA girl! We can't be sport friends though. Nonetheless, happy Friday to you too!

Be careful not to get too sucked in. Although this board is a great place to stay level headed and to just have fun getting to know everyone.
