We're finally supposed to get snow tomorrow and I know they're hyping it up but I want it to be so bad that I get the don't bother coming in text message before I get out of bed in the morning.

I need to practice my snow dance...lately it's just been a WTF everyone south of me got snow temper tantrum. lol

TELL ME ABOUT IT!! I want it to snow so much that I'll have to shovel a path in the grass so my dog has somewhere to go poop! I'd practice my snow dance but I dont think my coworkers will appreciaite me being in my underwear. Hetshup, if I was drinking anyhting right now, it would have been on the computer screen with your post.

I was trying to explain to DH how much fun it is to be snowed in.  Snow is fabulous when it cancels everything.  You bundle up to go have a snowball fight, go sledding or make a fort. Then when you come home, you snuggle up with a thick blanket next to the fireplace and drink hot cocoa. 

When there is just enough to ruin your day, it sucks.  When it thaws during the day and freezes overnight, it sucks.

I was snowed in all weekend at my friend's apartment on Capitol Hill, and it was GREAT.

We played Scategories and Trivial Pursuit and drank a LOT of champagne and beer. When it slowed a little we walked down to the Capitol and there were kids sledding and dogs running around and it was very beautiful, then we went to the bar and drank more.

Apparently when you're 30, being snowed in means dumping a LOT of imitation Bailey's Irish Cream into your cocoa. I might still be hungover.

And now it's going to snow some more, again. Sigh. I can't say I'm as excited for this one, but this is the second day in a row my office is closed, and we'll likely be closed tomorrow too. Wahoo!

Maybe if I could have snow for like 2 days out of the year, it would be okay. I can't handle it for months on end.

Being cold and wet from snow melting on you at the same time as you get sweaty from the work of slogging through the stuff...no, thank you.

Also, I used to drive off the road at least twice every winter. I can't drive for shiit on snow or ice.

It's much safer for everyone if I just stay in the desert and throw on a fleece to go sip hot cocoa on my sunny, 60 degree balcony.

I want more snow!!  We got a medium sized storm this weekend but I ended up driving home from NB in it.  My 5 hr drive turned into a 7.5 hr drive...it was NO fun! But I want some now that I'm home.  I'm in on this dance...but I need a big hat AND boots.  I hate cold feet!

Some snow is fine.  Feet upon feet of snow? Not so much.  Especially in cities that have no idea what to do with that much snow. 

But I do like being able to come back inside after a snowball fight and drink adult hot chocolate. (that reminds me... need to pick up more bailey's before the storm tomorrow).  Baileys+hot chocolate + kahlua = best drink ever

hetshup, the hat is critical. lots of heat lost through the top of the head. should be fine in your underthingies as long as you have that hat. priorities, ladies.

I know! I need a big hat and thick socks. Then I can snow dance til the cows come home, or until it starts to snow. Cows aren't so much for the snow.

PS-- It's underpants, not underwear.

Booo, in the last 6 winters of Boston I've only ever had ONE day of college classes cancelled, and ZERO stay at home from work days.

Plus, I'm coming down with a cold and I missed too much work last week from the surgery to take more time off. I hope I get a snow day too!!!


Also, my tried and true grade school snow dance consisted of:

prancing up and down in a circle, arms raised above my head, spirit fingers, and whooping "snow day, snow day!" The more people you can get together to do this at once, the greater the chances.

I'd like to insist on argyle hat and socks to make sure your snow dance look is properly fashionable. The gods won't listen if you look trashy.

For some reason, i really dislike the word underpants. Also, panties. Even typing it makes me cringe. Like moist or ointment. It's that long vowel sound -- maybe it's from living in the upper Midwest for so long, where people talk kind of nasally. "Wiscaaaansin." "Baeeegel."

So I say underthingies. :-P

I love the term underpants, I think it's so funny, normally quailman is what I picture when I say it. 

Unrelated; FI thinks that "titties" is less offensive than "boobs".

YAY VIBES!

It was snowing this morning and the possibility of it getting much worse was looming ahead of us. So my boss texted me and told me to stay home and enjoy the day!! :-D

It has since stopped snowing which is lame because I have nothing to play in, but they are saying it's supposed to get bad again in about an hour, here's hoping...

We've had such a crappy winter snow wise, everyone keeps stealing our snow. It's supposed to be really had right now but it isn't....I wonder if the snow is late or not coming at all...
