I haven't seen any of the last few days posts since before lunch. 

Let's talk about something. . . . 

DH and I are planning on going to a Jimmy Buffett concert next Saturday. Anyone ever been to one? What should I expect? 

What is the best concert you've ever been to?

Never been to a Buffet concert. My favorite concert would have to be NKOTBSB last year. I went with my little sister, had low expectations for a pair of music groups I hadn't really paid any attention to in years--and they put on a great show! Funny how music lyrics stick with you...

At Alpine?  Great venue. One of the best tailgating venues around here.  I went a few years ago on a bus trip through a bar here in the city.

Buffet is known for its tailgating.  The people are friendly and there will be a sea of Hawaiian print and coconut bras.  Lots of cookouts and maybe a few beer slip'n'slides.  It should be a good time.  Have fun.

I haven't been to a Jimmy Buffet concert but my aunt and uncle went to one. They said it was a blast.

The best concert I've been too was the Brad Paisley one I went to in January. He puts on a great show.

No - it is at the terrible FMBA in Tinely Park (aka: Tweeter park?). I hate that venue. But it should be fun anyway. . .  I hope.

It still should be a good time.  The Parrot heads wouldn't let it not be.  I've been to a handful of concerts there.  Lawn seats are pretty decent.   I don't think they're crazy about tailgating there though.

According to everything I've read they're allowing tailgating for his show because he won't play anywhere that doesn't allow it. It is on DH's bucket list, so if it isn't up to par I'm sure we'll go again sometime in the future.

Yeah, FMBA is a pain.  I just went to a Radiohead concert there (SO's favorite).  It was fun but I bought us great seats because the seating sorta sucks in Tinley Park.  Also, we hired a car to take us back into the city- I did not want to deal with that traffic.  It was $100 but so worth not having to drive after the concert. Favorite concert has to be Bob Dylan at Halloween in Madison, WI so far (but then SO and I are going to Coldplay in August).

I don't know what "AW" is...my tech/chat skills are seriously limited (no Facebook, IM, etc.) but as to the pictures, I will gush over it...your expression in the one picture where you greet your SO just shows your pure joy at getting married to the person you love. 

Do you know anyone going to the Buffett concert or can you find a tailgate party you can join on Criagslist?  If so, you can take the train in (Rock Island Express, I think) then get a car back like we did...best of both worlds.  Tailgaiting would be fun but, after a few drinks and maybe second-hand "smoke" I would hate to drive.  I'm sure there will be plenty of the latter at the Buffett concert... there was at the Radiohead concert we went to (was more smokey than the Bob Dylan, Halloween concert I went to). 

If you end up needing a driver, let me know and I can send you the info of the driver I used...very professional, early (hung out in the parking lot for 30-45 minutes waiting for us) and it was a breeze to get back to the city.  SO was very, very impressed at my "in style" way of taking care of him according to him.  :)
