According to TK my relationship/proposal/marriage is invalid and/or trashy because...

We've all seen it.  Generalizations from around TK (posters, in articles, etc) that make you think "Well, damnnn, now my relationship is invalid."  So, why is yours invalid?  I'll start.

#1) I didn't want a huge ring.

#2) My ring is under a carat.  FBD must not love me.

#3) Our proposal wasn't a huge romantic gesture or some grand event.

#4) Garter toss is happening.

#5) I live to crush beebees b/c I'm a bitter old hag (maybe this is because my relationship is invalid!!)

#6) No pony.

My relationship is awesome.

I don't fall under any generalizations (...yet) :P

You can't even really nail me with the drinking age one, because I am over the drinking age in Canada.

Our relationship is doomed to failure because our age difference creates a large gap.

We'll never make it in the long run, because around election time, our yard will appear to be schizophrenic. I can see us having  signs up for two people running against each other.  We will look confused.

FI's friends wife actually lectured FI about buying me a bigger ring because "anything under a carat means you don't love her".  I had to explain to her that FI probably would have bought me a 4 carat diamond if I wanted one, but even the 1 carat looked gaudy on my tiny fingers, so I CHOSE a .5 carat.  Not to mention that I would much rather have a nice honeymoon than a big ring (travel is way more valuable to me than jewelry).

My sister is 12, I'm going to say she's not a teenager, and I'm not sure how I'd count her, she's becoming a little bit of a brat.

2) I knew when the proposal was coming.

3) The proposal happened in bed. No flowers, no candles, no dinner. It wasn't like a movie. It was like real life. AND it was the night before Thanksgiving. Scandalous.

4) I spent more than $1000 on my dress even though I'll only wear it one day. But I will look fantastic.

5) We don't celebrate anniversaries. We don't even have anniversaries. In fact, I don't even know if we were "officially dating" until we got engaged.
