Not Engaged Yet

Is this it???????? I'm dying to know....AGHHH!

Okkk - So a year ago last Christmas, the bf proclaimed his everlasting love for me and that a proposal was imminent. Fast forward to December 2010 and still no ring!!! All of a sudden he calls me today and suprises me by telling me that hes taking me away for the weekend! (This upcoming weekend!)

Is this it???? Later he called me when he got home and was teasing me saying that my christmas present had arrived. I asked him teasingly what he got me (I asked for these amazing computer speakers, to play my Frank Sinatra music while cooking, obv) and he says "Ohhh, I don't think you know what I got you, its a little bit smaller than that."

I cant STAND the teasing!!! I know I should go into this weekend not expecting it because if I do, and he does not in fact pop the question I am going to be sooo disapointed. Frown

You're setting yourself up for disappointment if he doesn't. And none of us are your BF so we can't tell you if it is it.

Enjoy that you get a wonderful weekend with the man you love. No matter what happens at the end, that's what truly counts.

Exactly.  See, what do you need us for?

He may propose; he may not.  Either way, you're in a relationship with a guy you love who wants to marry you someday.  Things could be way worse.

I can, however, empathize with your situation.

I agree with the others. Just enjoy the weekend and don't think about it. If you do, you'll be very disappointed if he doesn't ask.

I wonder if it's another case of the TK being wonky?  It would be really strange to have had a TK account for 11 years and still be NEY.

I'm with the other ladies, dont expect anything, I know its hard but a weekend alone with your SO is very exciting with or without a proposal. Have a great time on your trip! (And be sure to come back and let us know how it goes!)

I doubt it is MUD if she has only made 1 post in 11 years.

My bet in on TK being weird because I doubt this sit was around in 99.

I know it is hard, but try not to think about it so maybe you wont be as disappointed... GL though.

I was in the same boat last year! My bf and I have been talking about getting married for 2 years, and he's been saying that the ring is "close" for the same period of time. So last year, he surprised me with a romantic B & B getaway right after New Year's, as our anniversary and my Xmas gift. Of course I was super excited and thought that the proposal was definitely happening, but unfortunately I returned empty handed. It was a great weekend and we had a great time but I was disappointed because I was expecting the proposal.

So my advice: go into this weekend without expecting anything (if possible) and have a great time no matter what! And best of luck if you do end up with the ring :)

I'm actually in the same boat, my BF told me he was proposing in January I know he has the ring and we are going on 7 months. I'd be going crazy if it werent for the ladies here. BF told me last night the week after Xmas he wants to go to a B&B where we went before, its super romantic and of course I cant help thinking if THAT'S IT. It's natural to wonder if it's going to happen but dont get to excited or start fantacizing that IT will happen bc the engagement happens on the guys timeline not ours (unfortunately). Actually a part of me kind of hopes that it isnt that weekend bc I would be expecting it and I want to be surprised (I'm trying to use reverse psychology here). Think of it that way. Like others said enjoy the weekend and your time together...Something smaller could mean a necklace or earrings.

P.S. A couple of months ago I had convinced myself that he was going to propose at this party and he didnt, it was awful bc I had gotten so worked up about it. I just dont let the excitement get to me anymore. It will come when it comes.

Stop thinking about it.  You'll get yourself all worked up and if it's not it then you'll be disappointed.  Be happy that BF is taking you away somewhere, enjoy your weekend and if it happens you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Evertime someone says MUD it reminds me of the nickname my Aunt used to call me, Minerva Mud.  My screenname almost everywhere else is ManaurvaMudd.  It's a good thing I didn't use that here.  I wouldn't have been able to convince people I was real.

MUD always remains me of mud pie. But the delicious ice cream kind, not the mud pie I made as a 3 year old.

I dont have problems recognizing MUD but STDs is a whole different story. I saw it on a flyer on campus and originally read it as Educate Yosef about Save the Dates. *facepalm*

EDIT: Yosef is spelled right, its our school mascots name and they like to throw it into ads instead of yourself.

I have also never seen the necessity for adding "dear" or "darling" before your family member, eg, DH, DS, and DD. It just seems weird to me. Maybe b/c I'm cold hearted old married hag?
