Fall Office Party Ideas

I thought you ladies would have some great ideas...

Dilemma:  A few times each year a department is appointed a certain time to have an office party (which is ALWAYS about the food, of course) and my department has been given late-October.  I'm told that it can't be anything to do with Halloween.  So I've got to come up with some ideas on what to do for a fall party, in the office, around lunch time.  Almost every year we do a chilli-cookoff so it probably needs to be something a little different.

Annnnndddd..GO!

Potluck! Have everyone bring their favorite "fall" dish -- pumpkin cheesecake, squash, popcorn, turkey, green bean casserole, chili, roasted pumpkin seeds, etc etc.

Throw up some leaf decorations and call it good.

I'm not into party planning very much though...Oceana would be good for help with this!

I second the potluck idea...  there are lots of delicious seasonal fall recipes!  and generic fall decorations (red, orange, yellow, brown...  leaves...  pumpkins, gourds, squashes...)

Dang, you ladies make my idea look boring.

Coming from a Christian school, we were not allow to have "Halloween" parties but instead, we had "Harvest Parties". They're the exact same except the wording decor was a bit different. We still dressed up and still got candy. You know, the important stuff.

ETA: The science teacher always celebrated Mole Day! She would dress up as a mole and she was super short and pudgy so she looked like one. I wish I could find the picture of her costume.

I know i'm a little late to the party, but what about an "Oktoberfest" party??? I don't know if you all drink, but if not you could always get the root beer in glass bottles. Brats, sauerkraut, pickles, soft pretzels, potato salad, apple strudel, ...any kind of German-esque food. mmm...

Here(<---- clicky) is a website with food ideas!

[QUOTE]My birthday is in October.  Throw a birthday party in my honor.   (My birthday parties were always Halloween themed when I was younger and now I hate Halloween.  I love fall though - and I really like desert's suggestion of fall themed foods.)
