Bren, welcome back!

As far as The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, the first book takes a bit of time to get into. Give it until about page 200 before it gets going. Book 2 (The Girl who Played with Fire) was really good. I'm about halfway done with Book 3 (The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest) and it's not as good as Book 2.

Overall, not the best books I've ever read, but the author is VERY good at character development. I think some of the more difficult aspects is simply specific references to Swedish history and politics, which I'm not familiar with.

Yay, Bren is back!! You were missed, lady. I hope everything works out with school, I am sending you positive vibes!

I used to be extremely impatient but that's changing slowly. Right now I am literally about to strangle someone if Unemployment in the State of Ohio doesn't come up with my f@^!ing money soon. 16 weeks of waiting is making me stabby. They currently owe me $3000.

Other than that I just try to put it out of my mind and go one day at a time. It's the only thing I can do so as not to go completely off the deep end. lol.

Thanks shoes. I suppose it would help if i actually applied to find those jobs. Looking for jobs makes me depressed. It's quite the cycle.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: So impatient... : Bren if you love amazon all the better! You can always check out the Nook online and order it to be shipped to Canada. The books are purchased online so I don't see a problem with it working for you in Canada. Elle: Depends on the book, for some series like the Dresden files by Jim Butcher I can't help myself and have to buy it as soon as it comes out so new releases that usually cost me $25+ as a hard cover are like $ 9-12 as e-books. Then already released books that are older titles or paper backs cost between $1.99 and $7.99. But like I said they have a list of over 100,000 books that are free to download, from classics to modern mystery and other fiction and non fiction. I'm not sure if the B&N members get a discount on the e-books, as crazy as it sounds I'm not a member, even tho its my second home. I'm odd like that.

Loopy, seriously, stop job hunting! Start networking. It's the only way I kept my sanity. Applying for jobs in today's job market is a bottomless pit unless you know someone inside. Track your success by how many cups of coffee you buy in a week - meet with someone, have them intro you to 3 more people, then have each of them intro you to 3 more. You'll feel a sense of accomplishment for having reached certain goals of coffees to buy (aka people to meet), and it's a lot more attainable than the abstract and impossible to predict goal of finding a job.

Good luck! Keep your chin up! It's a frustrating process, believe me I know. It sucks to hear, but it WILL happen.
