Tell me, what do you do (if anything) while Aunt Flo is visiting?

I'd always gone with a week of celibacy, but I'm crazy turned on during that week...so I'd like some opinions.

ETA: Blame Tiger.  She got me thinking in the other thread.

Um, hello shower sex! Either that or if it's not too heavy like a lite flow or spotting or something we'll do the deed and then jump in the shower afterward. It helps not to creep him out if it's dark while we're having sexytime. :-)

Since I can't seem to edit my post because the thread is playing hide and go seek, I'll add that FI and I have been together for a while and we're comfortable doing the deed that week. Not to mention, I never really have heavy periods and since I've had my IUD I don't get them at all anymore.

Basically everything Ollie said. SO and I are not bothered by sexytime during that week. And we basically do the same thing: sexytime and then shower together afterward. We just lay down a towel underneath me to protect the sheets if I'm having a flow that is more than just spotting.

I do the week of celibacy. I've never explicity asked FI about it, but I assume he would be grossed out. Plus I feel like I would be self concious. But I feel your pain. That's the only week I'm not getting hormones pumped into my body (birth control) so my drive is way higher.

My periods are crazy heavy and tend to last about 5-7 days (it's gotten better length-wise with BC, but still insanely heavy flows). Like everyone else, I'm crazy in the mood during that week, but any desire to ACTUALLY do anything is zilch.

I'd be ok with shower fun time ... I haven't had a period since 2005 or 2006 (thanks to one BC or another) though, so I don't even remember what it's like to not be influenced by hormones.

I've always been mostly ok with it, but my ex was super freaked out about it.  M seems to really not be freaked out at all.

We'll see how things go, but he's talking about maybe wanting to get in the water and messing around while we're at the beach.

I usually time birth control so I have it when BF is at work for a week. If that fails then we have BJ week for him, and when it gets light we go for shower sex.

Actually, our first time was when AF was here (WEIRD, NO?!)

You can also ask him if he would be more comfortable using a condom that week (if you don't usually). I've had some guys tell me the blood actually irritaitates their junk a bit- so the condoms help. Andrew just doesn't really care.

On the first day I won't do anything...I feel like poo and the flow is heavier. After that we will either do it in the shower or lay down a towel. BF is the first person I've been this way with, it's nice that he isn't grossed out.

I can't see the OP, but based off your post the other day, I'm assuming you're talking about sexytime during that time of month. 

FI and I have sex then and it's NBD.  We usually will wait until the end of the week when my flow isn't heavy, but we haven't had any issues with getting anything on the sheets.

Shower sex or a condom for easy clean up. DO IT! You will not regret it! (Andplusalso it can relieve cramps.)

Like most of the other girls, we don't do anything on the heavy day because I feel like garbage, but then do the towel and condom or shower thing. It does reduce cramps!!

BF is the same way, he actually said "it's just blood and I've already come into contact with every other bodily fluid of yours anyways, who cares..."

Also, not to sound like a mom here, BUT if you are newly dating someone condoms are always a good idea, ladies.

BF never cared in the beginning - we'd have sex anyway. He would have done it whenever, but I was only okay with it when it was lighter. Now we aren't such rabbits, so we usually skip that week (since we have sex once a week anyway), or go ahead if it's light. Shower sex is out of the question because our shower is tiny (it's a converted closet under a stairwell - thank God neither of us is claustrophobic).

I'm with you Peek, I'm super turned on the week of my period. It's just not fair. Minus that first day or two, though. Superbloat = opposite of sexy.

I don't get periods now because of my IUD, but usually we'll just do BJ week or have sex with a condom for easy cleanup.  If it's SUPER heavy, then we won't...but it's not a huge deal to us.

For the 1-3 days that it's really heavy, we do nothing, because I feel totally gross, and it would be pretty gross. Once it's slowed down, we have sex as usual. Since I've been on the shot, all I ever get is spotting, and we always have sex through that.

I hate shower sex.

I'm not sure of your reasons, but for me, I don't like it because it's so brightly lit and there are not all that many flattering positions you can pull off in a shower when you're self-conscious, lol. FI loves it though, so instead of refusing, I'm working on self-esteem issues.

We just go ahead, NBD. I'm not a huge fan of in the shower, I find it uncomfortable actually, but sometimes we do that. Usually though, I just throw a towel down on the bed just in case.
