Proposing

Ladies i need your input! I'm planning my proposal and i have a couple ideas! Me and my love are both huge red sox and baseball fans! We go to the detroit/boston game every year! So i thought about maybe having it put on the scoreboard in a message? Or having her parents sit behind us  and once we get up to go somewhere have them hold up will you marry me sign? One more idea i had was doing it over the radio at the downriver cruise party her family has every year! The radio station broadcasts live their every year so im sure i could check with them and figure something out! I just want it to be special and a huge surprise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllp!!!!!!!!!!!!!Sealed

Wow, sounds like you're super psyched!! :)

First thing you have to consider: Does she like being the center of attention? Personally, I don't like it, so I would not have enjoyed a proposal on the score board so thousands see me get engaged. FI proposed to me with just the two of us there, which is what I like. If she loves being front and center, then go ahead and go for the big proposal at the game.

I agree with Bourgehm. I would personally prefer a private and intimate propposal over a huge over the top proposal. I would feel awkward with thousands of eyes starting at me, but that's just me.

    Goodluck with your proposal!

I second bourgehm.  Some women would panic at the idea of everyone looking at them in ANY moment let alone one as emotionally charged as a proposal.  I, too, am one of those women.  If she's not, then that could be really fun.  Do her parents often attend the game and sit behind you?  I was under the impression family usually sat in the same row for games, so that would be a bit awkward.  But if she's close to her parents, and it seems like she must be for you to be considering including them in a proposal, I think it'd be awesome to include them in some way!

    Good luck!

I also agree with Bourgehm, if she doesn't want to be the center of attention then I'd go in a different direction.  I'd probably turn tail and run if my SO proposed in front of thousands of people, and I absolutely would say yes if he asked me in private.

I agree with the others. If you're pretty darn certain this is something she'd like, then go for it. I'm the kind of person who hides when they do the stupid "kiss cam" at hockey games. I would be mortified if that happened to me.

You know your girlfriend best. Just remember that despite what the media shows us, not all women want a big public proposal. In fact, I'd wager that more prefer a private than public proposal.

I assume your downriver?? May I suggest Bishop Park? My FI proposed there and it was perfect. Cruise night would be awesome too. I agree with the other girls in not doing it in public if she doesn't like being the center of attention. I had a friend whose dh proposed at the tigers game with the help if Paws. Goodluck!
