large fun necklaces

I have a growing collection of large fun necklaces... you know the ones you only wear with fun dresses or when you go out. I used to hang them on the mirrors on the wall in my old apartment.

Where do you put them? I can't seem to find a place that isn't in the way in BF's house (like hanging on the cabinet/mirror door) or messy looking?

Ahhhk moving is such a pain... how did I acquire so much stuff?!?!!!

I have one of these.  I hang my long necklaces off the top of it.
Mine hangs on a nail on the wall, but you could hang this in your closet.
I got mine from Avon a few years ago for like $8.

    Or, you could make this:

I think it would be really neat to make a hanger you could hang in the closet that has hooks like the wall hanging.

Similar to Wrkn's second idea...I bought a men's tie rack, mounted it to the wall in my closet, and hang all of my necklaces and belts off of it. Keeps them from getting tangled!

I don't have a lot of fun necklaces...but I'm working on it!  My BFF does, however, and so when I cleaned her room last semester, I pounded three nails into her wall and we organized them like that.  It looks pretty awesome.

LivLeighton.... :::chuckling::: when I had a cat it was the same thing. There was no such thing as sparkly objects that dangled that could be hung without the cat becoming a weapon of mass destruction.

I also have a men's tie rack (or maybe a belt rack?) that I have nailed into the wall. It's in our walk-in closet so it doesn't mess up our 'pretty' space but it's super easy to see all my necklaces. I probably have 50 (though I only wear 10-15 of them regularly).

I second (third, fourth, fifth) the tie rack idea. If you have a little extra swag and an eclectic sense of style or decoration, I have also used knobs from Anthropologie to hang necklaces on. Just screw them into the wall in a pattern or randomly and hang them off those. Like others, I use a tie or belt rack in the closet, but my favorite or most used necklaces are out in the open in my bathroom.

I use this. It's meant for keys, but I hang all my necklaces from it. I stuck the rack to the side of my dresser. It uses the 3M Command tape strips that are really strong but can be removed.
