Interview Update...

I got a second interview!!!! Tomorrow at noontime, for another Skype interview with the VP of Marketing and the Chief Administrative Officer. WOO!!

Any pointers/advice/words of wisdom?! While this job is staying in the same field (PR/Communications) it's a change (athletics to banking). Does anyone work in the banking industry who can give me some buzzwords/terminology that I can drop?

Way to go Bri! That's great!

I used to work in banking. The only tip I've got is that, from my experience, they are a conservative bunch and don't necessarily think out of the box much. I got nailed on not looking as conservative as they wanted, I still got hired though.

I was just going to say something like Hazel! I've never worked in banking, but I've had a lot of friends have skype interviews lately (I've never used skype in my life!!!) and I was going to suggest having it somewhere that looks professional and wearing a suit. Especially for banking. My instinct might be something more business casual, but since it is a conservative environment, might as well go all out.

Congrats on the second interview! Good luck!

Thanks everyone! I'm pumped, and hoping it goes well. Positive thinking!! :-)

In new news, my boss dropped a huge bomb that he accepted a new job & is leaving in early December. That causes a few reactions. 1. He has been here for 18+ years, and no one ever thought he would leave. I'm not really sure how this place will run without him, and that 's not an exaggeration. 2. If I leave too, our department will be down to two interns. 3. Because he's leaving, it makes me want to leave even more - because I don't want to stick around to watch everything collapse without him.

Congrats!  No experience either with banking but smart idea by the PP to have your background look professional!

Congrats! My only piece of advice is make sure it is clean behind you and play around with the camera angle before the interview. Boost up the computer with some books if need be and make sure they aren't looking up your nose or something :-)
