You are ahead of the game, you have over a year and you've already done 4 big steps!  Go eat some ice cream and watch bad cable shows and feel good about the decisions you've made!

I agree with whoever said to just go look. We went and looked at a few places just to find things out. We went one place and they handed us the pricelist as we walked in. We immediately knew they were way out of our league but stayed and ate their food anyway! Serves them right, they should have their prices on their website! Enjoy it!

Oh, I basically looked at the checklist on here and one weddingwire.com and did things as they came up on the list. It's a good guide, obviously not everything is going to work perfectly for you but it's a good place to start. For example, I thought booking transportation would have to be done far out but according to the checklist I don't even have to book it yet, 5 months out (I already have though!). Gives you an idea of when you should be booking things.

    1) How do you feel about ballroom weddings? Excellent amenities
    2) How important is food? VERY!
    3) How "themed" do you want to me (I mean, we have a pretty princess, pirate and murder mystery disney theme already figured out) Not too theme'd....but I'd like to stick to a loose theme.

You ladies make me feel sane, again! FI and I had a chat this evening and we're going to take your advice and just go look.  We're going to an open house at one this week (planned pre-freakout) and then we're just going to look around until we find one that feels right.

Huh, I could have sworn I replied earlier....

    But anyway --

Paige, it's okay to freak out a little!

Just remember: As long as you end up married, it's all good!

Do the things that make YOU happy and that will be MEANINGFUL for YOU.

Don't do things b/c "that's what people do."

Something that really helped me was looking at invitations. I fell in love with a dandelion graphic, and wanted fun but classic colors that also seemed "summery." So we went with navy and lime, and that helped me get a concept of the mood I wanted -- chic but laid back and fun.

Also, don't stress about getting things done super early. You have plenty of time! I'm like 6 weeks out and still finalizing flowers and cake! :)

You'll be fine, sweetie. Hang in there! And yes, absolutely, take breaks from the planning and go do something with your honey and don't talk or think about wedding stuff for a while every so often. :)
