I can't believe it's Friday already. This week flew by for me - mostly because I should have been busy selling all week and of course, I sold nothing. I hate sales. I'm ready for a new job. I applied to three yesterday and will hopefully apply to a lot more this weekend. BF and I went out to our favorite casual restaurant last night. We discussed our jobs, of course, and the fact that he really needs to get serious about applying to new jobs. We also talked about moving out of state - maybe CT or northern VA? I don't think it will happen anytime soon, but I'm definitely open to the idea. We don't really have plans this weekend except maybe crashing a friends' friend's birthday party in the city. I reeeaaally want to take Kaya to the dog park even though she's probably still in heat - she hasn't been there in weeks! At the very least, we'll probably take her on some nice long walks around the neighborhood.
In Response to Re: Happy Friday : I've been walking with Molly and I love it, except that she pulls on the leash a lot. Like, a very annoying amount, especially when she finds a new smell. Then we have to stand there for 5 minutes while she sniffs around. The worst part is that we're in the neighborhood behind my apartment complex, so these are people's yards who I'm not even a neighbor with... I went on a walk without her the other night and I felt so guilty leaving her at home, but it was the most enjoyable walk ever.

I HATE pulling on the leash to get her to go, so I just stand behind her and say "I'm gonna get you!" and then she'll get up and start walking again. She loves walking on trails in the park nearby but last time we took her, she had a tick on her when we left, so I don't want to take her back until we get her started on Frontline (it should be arriving any day now). She definitely LOVES all the exciting new smells that exist outside of her backyard, so I need to take her for walks more often.

Yeah, I agree. I think the most likely way we would go down there would be if BF was offered a decent job there. I would probably be able to stay in my current position even if we moved (I work remotely and several people on my team live out of state), so I could still keep this job while looking for something new. Even if I couldn't keep this job, I would almost definitely be able to work for the company part-time, so I'd still make some $. I'm close to having 6 months of living expenses saved up as well. In general, I just feel like it may be a good time to consider moving since we don't have too much tying us to the area. BF's doesn't see his family very much anyway, most of our friends don't live close by, and neither of us are happy with our jobs. The only reason I don't want to go too far is that I want to stay close to my family.

Morning ladies! It snowed a little here this morning, eek. So my drive wasn't so fun but, I'm alive and made it to work lol.

mhollister - Good luck with your FI's move! BF and I just moved in January and he's seriously a pack rat. I can't believe how much stuff he has.

Danser - Congrats on closing in a month! I bet you're super excited.

I am dog sitting for my parents this weekend so I get to have an adopted furbaby to snuggle with. Tonight BF, my sister, her friend and I are going to go to the movies. I think we're going to see Olympus has fallen.

Tomorrow I am going for a morning run for the Selah fundrund 5k, and then after that I think I am going to go get some cheaper new work clothes at Marshalls or Ross. I don't know if we're going to go out to dinner or just relax.

Sunday I am going to clean and then just take it easy, and get prepped for my new job. If it's nice I'll probably take my parent's dog to the park with my sisters dog.

Radley, I foam roll (for the reason Tiger stated she should). It hurts like a B!tch, but helps so much. I do my IT, my hips, and my back. Definitely worth the investment of the roller. I also go to a chiropractor, which helps a lot.

Tonight I am training at a bar that I was just hired at.

Tomorrow my MOH and I are getting a tattoo, Ill AW on Monday. Tomorrow night we are going out and celebrating her birthday (a few days early). We are going out to dinner with the guys then heading to the bars for some drinks and dancing. I am soo excited to go out.

Sunday I have to work at BWW, hopefully one of my last shifts. That place sucks and so do the managers.

FYI the dolphin show is corny and sappy sugary sweet as all get out. But the viewing window is nice. Last couple of times I've been there the dolphins came up to the window quite a bit and interacted with the people standing there. They'll blow bubbles at you, rub against the glass, do jumps, stuff like that.

My weekend is pretty quiet. Tonight is Happy Hour with my mom. Fridays are our regular get-together night.

Saturday I have a spa appt (yay waxing...) and BF and I really need to clean our apt. We wanted to go hiking but spring seems to have disappeared and been replaced with cold weather, rain, and yuckiness so so much for being active. Sunday I'm celebrating a friend's birthday. We're going to go see Oz: The Great and Powerful or whatever it's called at a really cool movie theater that serves food and booze while you watch. Later that evening BF and I may go out with some other friends for fancy sushi. Life has felt really go go go lately so I'm looking forward to a sort of laid-back weekend.

Connecticut is a great state to live in but it's so expensive. I love that it's convenient to both NYC and Boston as well as some great beaches and casinos but what I pay in personal property and property taxes is crazy. Rents are high here too but we toyed around about moving to TX or out west last summer and were shocked how much people don't get paid in other states but it's probably costs a heck of a lot less to live out there so you have to put in perspective.

Job wise it's so-so here. It takes forever to get a job with the State of CT (which is the best place to work in CT) but once you're in you're good. Where I work there was a hiring freeze, but there are plenty of jobs available now (I just checked lol).

If you want any more info about towns to live in/look or whatever feel free to PM me. I've lived in CT for 33 years so I'm pretty much an expert on the Nutmeg state.

I don't have any specific plans this weekend other than clean the house, work out at least once, and we're 'on call' if H's ma needs anything. I wish I could go out dancing in this town/had people to go with. I could use a good time like that this weekend.
So what is foam rolling? I know I could google it... Posted by danser55
It is really a form of torture that runners and other athletes put themselves through. It is a necessary evil. Basically a stiff cylinder piece of foam that you roll various parts of your body over to work out kinks and tightness.

I own three in my arsenal of torture tools. The longer blue, red, and yellow things in this photo.

Happy Friday ladies!! Tiger, I looooove that photo idea. Love it. So much I may be stealing it. So... Thanks! This weekend I'm playing in a tennis tournament. I'm bummed about the division I'm playing in (there weren't enough registrations for me to play the divisions I really wanted to) but I'm still suuuuuper excited because my mom and brother are coming in town to play, too. They should be here in 7 hours or so... I should probably go clean my house. On another note, I'm on the verge of a major (for me) weight milestone.... Maybe a tennis-filled weekend will be just the ticket to push me past it.
