How was your weekend??

Re: Mondayyyyy

    1 week 5 days!!! EEEEEEE!

My weekend was somewhat eventful. We had a big family BBQ at my cousins and family I haven't seen in ages came. We have spent 5 out of the last 7 days at Best Buy. I was originally looking for a netbook. FI and I bought a new tv and home theatre system and I am now looking at laptops. I hope to finally decide on one before school starts.

My weekend was fun. Saturday I got some DIY stuff started then went to a party for a friend's birthday. Yesterday I spent the afternoon looking through old pictures looking for good ones for my table numbers. Fairly uneventful but fun!

    How was yours?

KD I did the same thing!!

Just made my table names. Did most of my escort cards. We bought FI's ring. Wrote our vows, prepare our TY toast, wrote BP notes, last minute DIY projects. So on.

We also broke our wedding diet and went out for nachos and wings. All that work deserved a reward. :)

    Our weekend was non-stop.

DH grouted all of the tile Friday night.  This meant that we were at the new house until about midnight.  I fell asleep on my fabulous glider.

Saturday, we had our usual labor class.  Then we went on a shopping expedition.  We bought a new couch.  Plus we finally found the perfect pedestal sink.  The rest of Saturday was spent demolishing the kitchen cabinets.  (And we made the decision that we are going to attempt to make our own cabinets.  Eeeek.)

Yesterday, DH installed the beadboard in the bathroom and redid the fittings for the sink.  I worked in the nursery and on my garden.  I got to take a long break and have lunch with one of my good friends from grad school.  She is actually the reason that DH and I met.  I am so excited because she is getting married in October and the wedding is close enough that we will be able to go!

All in all, the weekend was made of win.  Minus my balloon hand.

Haha, I guess see my other thread to know how Saturday went?

Yesterday I went into work for a bit, since I'm taking off most of Thursday this week (fitting, interview for new job, packing for this weekend's LARP, etc.).  Came home and FI and I went to the grocery store.  Came home, FI went to work (today is grand jury, so they had a pile of work to do yesterday to get ready for it), and I turned into domestic goddess.  I did laundry and dishes, and made crab dip and sweet tea for our dinner party tonight, hamburger helper for FI to eat when he got home from work, and I baked two loaves of bread (we decided to try making our own instead of buying from the store).

I'm excited to try the bread tonight.  The other couple that's coming over is bringing the main course, so we provided the bread and appetizers and dessert.  :-)  Monday night dinner and True Blood is apparently our new routine, not that I'm complaining.  Gotta vacuum the house tonight before they show up though.  After tonight, we'll be working on stuff for the LARP non-stop until Friday when we leave for it.  I am *so* glad that I got all the wedding stuff done early.

Kat and Acro-- here weeeee goooooo

My weekend was pretty busy. Friday I had my going away party for work then I came home and crashed. Sat FI parents came down to pick up wedding stuff and help with the house. So all my house prep is pretty much done. I still need to go through the garage and figure out what the heck I'm going to do with all the tools and garden stuff. I'm pretty sure the  paint can stay here. Oh, and I need to take the bike down and get the rack off the ceiling. Yesterday, I cleaned out the cars so they can be shipped and drove around wasting gas. And then made my meal plan for the week.

Oh and I started P90X. My tuckus is killing me.

I went to the gym with BF. He has a Planet Fitness membership and they were having a special promo that you could upgrade your account for free; and the upgraded account means you can bring one guest for free every day. So we went on Saturday and Sunday.

I clearly need to work on my back and shoulders more. They're the most sore areas right now. Also, I tried a crunch machine for the first time since my surgery and I nearly cried it hurt so bad =(  I think I need to stick to low-impact core workouts like the torso rotation machine for now.

I like to work out, but I have very little motivation to do it when I'm at home. I prefer to go to a gym. I'm excited about going on a regular basis. I wanna slim down before I go to St. Lucia in February for BF's sister's wedding!

EDIT: BF just called...he got a job! He's going to be a senior game advisor for Game Stop. He's taking a severe paycut because it's not management, but after a month of employment and working hard, he can apply for a promotion. Unfortunately, he won't be making enough money to support us both and this still leaves our move up in the air. But hey! He's employed! WHOO!!

Although yesterday was August 1, it was this morning on my way into work that I suddenly though - Holy F it's August!! As much as I want the wedding to be here, I am not ready for it to be August.

This weekend - I had a dress fitting on Saturday. Started working on dipping pretzels. Sat around yesterday, then went for a 6.5 mile bike ride. Fairly uneventful, although the dress is close to being fitted perfectly.

Glad everyone had a good weekend!  Kat, your ticker's moving so fast!  Only one more weekend between you and your wedding - wooo hooo!

Friday we went to a wine tasting and then out to our favorite gourmet beer place to sample some beers and eat our favorite nachos.  We ended up walking to a bar near our house and playing pool to end the night, which was really fun!

Saturday started well, and ended well, but the middle was sort of a mess.  We went out for a nice lunch then stopped at the grocery store and he was being impatient and a bit of a brat - I felt like I was dragging around a 12 year old!  So I tried talking to him about being impatient and curt, and he just shut down.  So I got annoyed and told him I'd go run some errands and come back when he was ready to talk.  When I came back, we ended up having a 2 hour conversation that really got a lot out in the open and was really helpful.  It was definitely emotionally draining, but we both were able to communicate what we needed from the other.  Then we went out to dinner and came back and watched a movie and cuddled.

Sunday we had Christmas in August!  I made roast chicken, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, biscuits, and cranberry sauce (sadly out of a can as cranberries are out of season).  He made "gluwien" which is German Christmas wine - heated briefly with cloves, cinnamon, sugar, and orange peal.  Yummy!  For dessert, we both made sugar cookies together.  Then we exchanged gifts ($20 budget) - I got him three books - one small German phrasebook, a "French Wine for Dummies" book, and a Beer Encyclopedia, all of which will be great for our trip to Europe in October.  And he bought me a new board game since we play games nearly every night.  We ended up playing the game for 6 hours yesterday!  And he got me a few packets of my favorite gummy peaches.

Oh Kat it's coming so soon wooot!

Saturday was busy - FI and I woke up early and pikced out his new suit jacket , tie , dress pants for the wedding. We also picked out a last minute BM gift so that is all done now. I pretty much finalized my vows as well ! We also did alot of other random shopping and final things too. Made some phone calls and found out everyone's plans for coming up to Lake Tahoe and arranging the last minute things as much as possible. Started planning a timeline for things for the wedding day. Also paid our photographer and sent in our final cake payment woo !

Sunday I had to work but my FFIL went with FI to pick out/ pick up alcohol , wine beer and champagne for the wedding. I need to make a list of what is left..only 2 weeks and 5 days to go here !

My weekend was pretty uneventful.  But I spent all morning today doing a major cleaning...I get to meet FI's niece tonite.  His family (except the niece) all live in Florida, and since we're flat broke, haven't got to meet them yet.  I've talked to them all on the phone and via email.  The niece is very young, living on her own for the 1st time and until a few weeks ago, was working the opposite shift of FI.  We've been trying to make plans with her for the past 6-7 months.  Now that we're engaged (and her schedule changed), we were finally able to connect.  Having her over for dinner and I'm so excited about it.

    Mutley... hand explanation please?

Cate, I want that dinner right now, sounds delicious!

There are a lot of wedding coming up really soon on this board!

My weekend was good... no little guy so we spent the weekend doing adult stuff like going to the bar after his softball game instead of coming home to watch a kids movie and Saturday we went to the river to celebrate my dad's FI's 50th which was a great time.  FI drank a lot and was hung over so he laid around most of yesterday while I did  laundry and went grocery shopping then we went to dinner.  I ended the night with a relaxing candle lit bath.   All in all a good weekend.

    My weekend was great.

BF and I hosted a dinner party on Friday night.  BF made the most delicious short ribs and goat cheese risotto.  My mouth waters just remembering it.

On Saturday, BF and I went to the Wrentham Outlets...and I got 6 tops at Banana Republic...for only $130.  And they're CUTE...and perfect for law school/future interviews.  SO excited.

Yesterday, BF and I did our weekly grocery shopping trip.  Then we went to see Salt last night with friends.

All in all, a nice relaxing, fun weekend.  Laughing
