Not Engaged Yet

So, am I jumping the gun here?

My BF and I are not engaged, but we've both agreed that we want to get married at some point.

Anyways, what I'm wondering is: how early is too early to book your ring bearer monkey?

I mean, according to the website, he's recently been crowned Thailand's best trained monkey. A monkey like that has to have a pretty busy schedule, don't you think it's better for me to book now? So I can be sure to get him?

That's it.  Now, nothing short of a monkey ring bearer will be satisfactory.  Thanks a lot, musik.

I honestly thought you were joking when I read this, it made me chuckle imagining a monkey coming down the isle.. I'm never going to be able to get that out of my head now.

If you can't book the monkey might I suggest you consider the ring bearing pig, I hear he comes with good reviews.  For an extra fee he will serenade the couple as you walk down the aisle after your ceremony.

I don't joke when it comes to ring bearer monkeys!

This is a matter of urgency ;-)

I agree, musik, this IS a matter of urgency. You better book that monkey ASAP, I mean, it would be a tragedy NOT to have a monkey ring bearer, and I don't know how people have been able to get through their weddings without one.

I think not having a monkey ring bearer at your wedding should be grounds for an annulment.

    Just sayin.

Well you never know - I'd say you need to get a jump on that IMMEDIATELY if not sooner. I myself am fighting tooth and nail to get my ring bearing pony in time for the wedding.

I want a miniature one that I can ride in on, but that also delivers the ring with no professional handling required. I will kill anyone that even THINKS of getting my pony first!

    MY PONY, BITCHES.

Musik, I thought you were serious until I got to the monkey part and I was literally sighing out loud wondering if you got hacked, because nothing else could explain it.

Then it clicked. I'm not usually this dense.

I think you can consider the monkey an investment for your future.

nottheonlydream....Those miniature pony's are little shitheads. Make sure and bring lots of treats to keep your pony from biting you. But then you are gonna have to deal with the pony possibly shitting on your aisle runner. That could be a problem...just sayin.

Thank you for the info! I know they can be little bastards but they're just so cute. Do you think just feeding them some wedding cake would be enough?  I mean really here this is an absolute necessity; I will cut my entire bridal party just for this adorable thing.... (who in Cali and want's to bring it to me?)

I can never, ever tell my husband about the ring-bearer monkey, or he'll insist on a re-do wedding.

Yes wedding cake will definitely work. And who needs a wedding party, save money for the pony by cutting out having to pay for those bridesmaid dresses. Great plan.

If you don't mind I am gonna steal this idea, but upgrade it...a ringbearer horse. SO already has 4 of them....or his goat...or llama. Oh the ideas running through my head right now.

Sunbird, how about some lemurs for flowergirls? Though I hear they're only legal in Texas.

I'm late to the party but I'm pretty sure you should have booked the monkey as soon as you and BF were officially BF/GF. Sorry musik but you might be a bit late and have to settle for the usual dog or kid.

This is not on my Knot "to do" list!  The Knot staff must add this AT ONCE!   I was counting on The Knot to tell me what I have to do to get married and I have been meticulously working through the 374 items on my to do list.  Now I realize those 374 items are just the jumping off point.

    Damn it!

I've been wondering what I'm going to do about the lack of a flower girl... and instead of harassing all my closest friends and family to 'get knocked up and make sure it's a girl!' I should have realized I could have a cute little animal... I want a Panda to scatter flowers before I walk down the aisle!

You could always dye their fur.

One in each of your wedding colors, perhaps?

    Clearly, the answer is pirates.

You need to make some pirate friends.
