I guess all our big-time posters are too busy getting married this month and aren't posting much! Yay August weddings!

How's it going, guys? What's new with you?

As for me, I have news. I am stepping down as moderator. I'm about to start school again, and I just don't foresee having much time for posting, let alone moderating (economics, english, art, and advertising problems! Oh, my!). I know, it was a short run... but at least I had you covered for the summer, I guess.



I don't know exactly when the mantle will be passed to our new mod, but starting next week you may see a lot less of me. Don't cry too much, ok?

Nothing new & exciting here... I have a clean apartment! That's always nice, lol!

I lurked for a long time (even posted a bit with another SN a while ago), and I have always enjoyed reading your posts, so I was happy when I re-joined and saw that you were the mod! I hope you still get time to pop back in and let us know how school is going.

You will be missed as mod. I'm thinking that once September rolls around I'll probably not be around much either. Between school and getting ready for the wedding, I'll be pretty busy. I think the board is going through a change. A lot of the "regs" aren't posting as much and the climate is changing, either that or I'm changing.

Well, I'm off to my mom's to start addressing invitations.

Beth: there are a ton of newbies which isn't always a bad thing, but it seems like there are many more puppies and rainbow types. I find myself being more snarky to counter all of the validation of bad ideas. I am not as eloquent in my writing as Mutley or Oceana but since they aren't around as much to verbalize my feelings, I end up just coming off as a bitch. I don't know. There really aren't any other boards that really interest me. After being on here for a year I realize that most of them are just new people coming on and asking the same questions. Maybe it's time for me to move on from the wedding world. How sad.

As much as I sometimes feel 'left out' from the school crowd (having something worthwhile to be bitching about. lol), I love the fact that I don't have to go back to school again this year.  I went K-college, I need a few years for a break. LOL Although I did sign up to go through all my dive certs through divemaster, so I'm sure that'll keep me busy for a while :-D (not looking forward to doing lake dives when the bottom temp is in the high 50's)

I also must admit that I find the "puppies and rainbows" posts pretty entertaining, especially the few 'newly engaged' ones where they complain about how little their diamond is and how it must mean their new fiances don't love them enough.

Anyways, Jeana, don't be a stranger, I love reading your posts and good luck to everyone with school!!!

Loopy - welcome as mod - I'm sure you'll serve us well - even though you will be deserting us to go off and get married in a week and 3 days, I mean, why would you want to go and do something like that?

Let's see, as for what's new with me?  I've been on 5 interviews in the past 2 weeks, so hopefully something will pan out soon (avoiding a temp agency that got hold of my app - I didn't seek them out and now they're driving me crazy).  I got started on my invites and announcements today - I promise I'll post a pic once I have a mock up ready to go.  Going to a bridal show on Saturday with my mom and 2 of my BM's, so excited.  That's about it for now.

In other news, this huge theater in Times Square that I frequent a lot just closed down temporarily because of a bed bug infestation. Ewww.

Bed bugs in NYC! Hahaha, this is all over the news (specifically I keep hearing stories on NPR)....apparently they are EVERYWHERE all of a sudden after having been stamped out for ages. Sucks to be you guys. Now I finally have a reason other than legal gay marriage to be happy I live in Iowa! Baha! ;)

Thanks so much everybody! I know Loopy will do a great job. I didn't want to say who the new mod was until it was official. I'm really excited because Loopy is just always so helpful and level-headed. Probably even more level-headed than I am, lol. And I'm sure I will stop by when I can, to offer my long-winded advice to whoever will listen.

I agree the board is going through changes, but so have many of the regs. Marriages, pregnancy, new jobs, new hobbies, what-have-you. It's only natural for things to change when that stuff happens.

Change isn't a bad thing!

For example, Josh and I decided to take another plunge and get smartphones! I'm getting a MyTouch 3G Slide, and he's getting a Samsung Vibrant. We're pretty thrilled. Gonna pick them up tomorrow! New little bundles of joy.
