Trash the Dress!

Yes, I know all about the controversial opinions on TTD.  For what it's worth, I'd never donate my dress - I'm planning on having it made into a baby blanket after I'm done with it.  But before I tear apart the seams and re-sew it, I figured I'd get it wet (and perhaps a little dirty) and get some awesome pictures!

Specifically, the photographer we've decided on just told me (when I commented that I might want a TTD session if we end up having some wiggle room in the budget) that she'd throw in a TTD session for free!!!

Now my Mom is totally confused and I can't seem to find any of the awesome pictures that I've seen before to convince her why this is totally fun! Any shoots you can show me?  Nothing crazy with paint, but some fun shoots with water or in might-get-dirty places would be great!

(Where's Jeana's pictures when I need them?  Those would be PERFECT!  I'm up for other examples, too, please!)

    On E: Salt's TTD or rock the dress, whatever you want to call it, was amazing.

    On SB: thesuninherhead and someone else who's name is slipping me had a great one.  I'm researching now.


    ETA: I was beat.  Salt's rock the dress is famous.

    Laura Liang a knottie over on the Los Angeles board is also a photographer.  She and some of the LA Knotties got together and did a TTD shoot.  It looks great.  Here's a link to her blog, if it doesn't go directly there go to the bottom of the page where the archive list is and look in October of 2010.  Looks like they had fun.

    Andd I love the Kate/James blog that Allusive posted. Those are so beautiful, and some of them made me swoon. Right in class.

    Awesome!  Thanks, girls!  My Mom's super skeptical, but ultimately it's not her decision anyway.  Her biggest argument was that my Dad would HATE it because he'd paid for an expensive dress.  His response?  "Better a free photo shoot than paying money to stick the thing in a box."  Ha!

    I'm definitely a long way from worrying about this, but free TTD session - AWESOME!

    I for one cannot wait to TTD! Cate, I agree with your dad on this one =) I would much rather have some fun in the dress than let it sit in a box forever! I can't wait to see your pictures!

    I would love to do a TTD.  I want to have my dress turned into a quilt, abet a small one, once I'm done so I'm sure it'll be fine if it gets a little dirty;)

    I'm really starting to think doing a shoot at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk could be pretty awesome and would be a fun way to spend a early summer afternoon. These photos are great and good inspiration as well. I admit the TTD idea has definitely grown on me and am more and morw a fan of it.
