We're getting married! Like, for real! We got engaged yesterday and it was entirely PERFECT! When it came down to it, I think I would have been happy with a straw wrapper, but it turns out he bought the ring the day after I picked it out and had it sized, and got it back 4 days ago! I can hardly wrap my head around it that this is finally happening! My dad took us out for dinner last night and did a champagne toast and the whole bit! It could not have possibly been better. I think I might get giddy again just thinking about it!!!!!

    Super congrats!  And I just read the engagement story on your bio (click her name for details - it's a really cute story) - that's really one of the cutest, most personal engagement stories I've ever heard!  I love it!  My guy doesn't sing, but I hope he does something just as personal and thoughtful.  SO SWEET!

    Also, I saw your post that you liked my "Brother of Honor" idea - go for it if you want to!  Let me know how it goes - I personally think it's the best idea EVER! Laughing

    He took me to this park near our house to play tennis, which I am horrible at but we have a good time, and we took a blanket and his guitar with us. He plays and sings for me all the time, but never in public, so I was a little surprised, but I went with it. After we played tennis for a while, we decided to find a nice sunny spot to lay out the blanket and chill. Then he took out his guitar and started to sing this song that I really love, "Question" by Old 97's, and I was fighting back tears because it was so pretty and perfect. He knows that I always pay special attention to the lyrics, and I thought he was just playing it because I like it so much. In the song, it talks about this guy takes his girl to the park and asks her this question, and then she starts to cry (in a good way) and he walks her back home the long way. Then he asked me to stand up and he got onto his knees and asked if I would be his wife, and I started crying and screamed YES, YES, YES!!! And he put the ring that I picked out on my finger and we laughed and I cried and we hugged and kissed, which is a big deal for him, since he is very PDA-opposed. I couldn't stop staring at it, and laughing and crying and jumping around like I was 5 or something... lol!! As it turns out, when his parents came down a couple weeks ago and we all went to "look", he put the e-ring and the wedding band on hold and came back the next day to buy them and send them to get sized. So now I've got this gorgeous ring, and the wedding band is waiting patiently in its box, and I have to take it in in 6 months to get it cleaned, etc. as according to the lifetime warranty. OMG, I'M GETTING MARRIED!!!

    No, we haven't given up on the counseling thing, and yes we have had the kids talk. We are now on the same page, and know where the other one is as well, and we are 100000% satisfied with the conclusion. I don't know that I have ever felt so in-tune with him!
