Adiamor??

BF has been asking me what style ring I'd like and I've told him that I like White Gold or Platinum (HATE Yellow gold) and I'd prefer something with Rubies.... and a Pear shaped diamond....  so, after searching all over the internet I FINALLY found a style I LOVEEE!!

Of course, I know everyone's taste is different so, I wont ask what everyone thinks of the ring...  my question is has anyone had any experience with this particular website or any experience ordering an engagement ring online?? As you can imagine, I'm a little nervous about it...

Never had the experience as I like to see something in person before I purchase it, why not go to a jeweler and have them customize this for you.  If not check reviews of the site on an independent site to see how the online company fairs.  And check their return policy.  If it were me I buy the semi-mount online and find a loose diamond in person and have a trusted jeweler set the stone.

I agree with Lyn. You could either buy just the setting online if the return policy seems okay, or you can take a picture to your local jeweler (Yelp one) and see if they can either recommend or order something similar or make one custom for you.

If you deal with a local jeweler, you'll have a better time dealing with issues like sizing or loose prongs as you'll have somewhere to go.

We did not buy my ring from Adiamor, but we had researched it because I liked their rings as well.  They have the highest rating from the Better Business Bureau and their return policy is completely reasonable.  Overall, I think their prices are good too.

That said, I also think you should go to a store and see things in person.  You may still want to buy your ring online (I did) but you should try on some similar rings first.  You might find out you don't like the way a pear-shaped stone looks on you.

Also, regardless of what a diamond certificate says it is impossible to tell what a diamond looks like unless you see it in person.  For most shapes other than round and princess cuts, there are no standard guidelines to determine the cut grade of a stone.  So even if you pick an "Excellent" diamond, it might not look so excellent.

My recommendation would be to buy from an online vendor that offers more than just the certification and a stock photo.  Some vendors offer actual photos, videos, and other images/test results that show how brilliant and "sparkly" a diamond will be.  Though, maybe not everyone is as picky as me.  Good luck!

I checked the reviews on the website itself and of course, everyone says how amazing the rings are and how great the company is... but you never really know if those are true testimonials... ya know?

he does have a picture of the ring so he could bring it to a jeweler and see if they can replicate it.... or maybe, like you guys said, buy the setting, since they are so reasonably priced, and find a diamond in person...

    thanks for the advice!
