Summer Means:

What does summer mean to you?

For me summer means:
Grand Old Day
State Fair
Line dancing on a boat
Enjoying a cocktail while sitting on at and outdoor bar/patio

    AH! SUMMER!!

    Summer means no more sweaters!
Playing at the park with the dogs until dark
    Road trips to New Brunswick
Tubing on the St. Croix River (sometimes I'm in Canada, sometimes I'm in the USA!)
    Bare feet
Trips to our farmhouse with my family and friends
Swimming in the waterfall at the park
    Walks along the waterfront
    Adventures after dark
    Irish tanning (aka freckles)
    Drinks in the sun
    Happiness!

I LURVE SUMMER! *dances* It's 20 degrees right now and I feel like dancing! wo0t!

Well... summer used to mean going to my favorite mayan restaurant in St Louis and finally getting to sit out on the patio that's been closed during the off season; going to the lake with friends; spending hot Saturdays running through the sprinklers with my nephews...

Now...I'm not sure what summer means - I guess I'll find out!  I have a feeling it means a lot of fishing trips on the boat, which is great news for me!

Since I'm used to looking at temps in F and not C its kind of funny to see a happy dance over 20 degrees.

Wild strawberries (more like late spring but it's coming up)

    Summer means:
Toobing, it being over 100 for 6 weeks in a row, sweating at night, flip flops, swimming outdoors, jetskiing, burning my legs on my leather seats. Sorry guys, it gets REALLY hot here.

Swimming and not freezing to death
    Canoeing
Helping grandma and grandpa with the yard work (they're 87 and 88, they could use the help)

Yes, winter in Maine is likely not going to have 80 degree days. Such as this year it was 85 two days before Christmas.

I do like tubing down the river as well. I just tend to end up freezing and being miserable becasue I am so cold.

Summer Shandy! How could I forget that from my list?!?
Going to the water park by my house.
Having it still be increadibly warm outside at night (this doesn't always happen every night in MN)
    Getting a tan

    Iced Coffee!!!
    Flip Flops
The shore - New Jersey - but not MTV Jersey Shore style!
Building sand castles with my nieces (5 and 2)
Doing some work around the house
    Phillies games (of course)
    Getting together more with friends
And humidity that brings many bad hair days :(

    Well it use to mean:

Huge bonfires and drinks with friends (but all my friends are the fd so who would complain)
Scuba diving every day or more than once a day...night dives with my search and rescue team doing boat tows and crashing into various things underwater cause its dark....
Fairs every weekend showing horses, cows goats and whatever else needs to be shown
    Horse draws
    The beach!!
Reenacting (although we do this in winter too is much more fun in summer time)
    BBQ

now... I live in the middle of wheat fields with no real friends or activities so I  guess we will see. I imagine summer means going to lots of conferences for grad school and finally finishing the training on my crazy horse

    To me, normally:
Cookouts, fireworks, the beach (OBX), sunscreen (love the smell), freezer pops, lime frozn-fruit, mosquitos the size of my hand, fireflies, swimming when I get off work, burning my hands on the steering wheel

This year: BF coming home, starting a new job, county fairs, the air smelling like cows (new apartment is across the street from a farm), walking to the farm stand, and huge flies.

Mutley, I totally thought the same thing at first... had to think about who was posting it!

    Summer to me is...

    • Grilling out my famous turkey burgers or bbq chicken (sorry veg-heads)! :)
    • Beers and guitar playing/singing around the fire pit.
    • Roasted Marshmallows around the fire pit.
    • Outdoor concerts
    • "Camping" at the river with my dad... I put the quotes because its more like a vacation home... river front has a huge covered patio, outdoor bar and fire pit and his neighbors on both sides have hot tubs!  They all have cable and A/C too... but since we sleep in a camper it's still camping, right?!
    • Flip flops
    • Sundresses
    • My Birthday! :)
    • Taking my son to the water park to play.
    • Soft serve Ice-cream at out favorite spot!
    • Drinking insanely large quantities of sweet tea and lemonade!
    • Listening to country music more than other types... appeals to me more in the Summer for whatever reason.
    • Fruit that is actually delicious!
    I LOOOOOOOOOVE SUMMER! :)
